Metro train brake lights

Is it possible for the last car of a metro train show red brake lights at the back, and then show the regular white lights/passenger lights when it reverses?

I guess you need to mod that in. For normal trains, the Extra Vehicle Effects mod, a plugin for the Vehicle Effects mod, achieves functional rear lights. Not automatically though, as the vehicle creator has to provide for it.

Here is an example for a train-based metro:
