  2. Problem with 3ds max unwrapping UVWs

I got a workaround in place that fixes the problem, unfortunate it adds a bunch of triangles but I think I'll be OK with this. I included an extra set of vertices to "weld" the polygons in place. My best guess is that something is off by millimeters, something that I can't see or really do much about in Sketchup. If I copy and paste the left side onto the right side and try to weld it in, some of the lines have extra endpoints in the segments. It sounds like Sketchup is adding breaks in to try to hold it up but my attempts to fix it hasn't been successful.
  3. I'm having a bizarre problem that I can't seem to fix. I'm drawing the model out in Sketchup and then importing it into 3ds max for unwrapping. For some reason 3ds max is adding seam lines where I didn't put ones and then projecting them incorrectly. For example: As you can see in the picture above 3ds max injected a line in the middle where I did not mark. The exact same thing on the other side doesn't have that line in the middle. As a result of this the cut out part is projecting as a slash which I can't do anything with. How do I fix this? I am using box projection FYI. Other projection methods don't look right at all so box is what I'm using.
  4. Decided to show a preview of what I'm working on, hope to have it ready by spring time.
  5. Additional Public Transit

Quick question, does MOM support curved platforms?
  6. Available for download here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1157336956 Prop version will be released eventually as well. Please leave any feedback or problems here.
  7. Proper way to build a metro train set?

Fixed the issue. Apparently the train was cached into the save game, it was saving properly the whole time and I needed to kill all traffic with TM:PE to get it to properly load.
  8. I'm having some trouble assembling a metro train set and looking for help. I'm using Extended Asset Editor 0.4.5 at the moment. I have it set so that only the front and back cars have lights, the cars in the middle have it removed. I also have it so that every other car is inverted so it looks properly. However for some reason the back trailer does not stay inverted and it ends up looking like this. I found a workaround, setting the back car as the "Trailer1" asset but this causes the file size to double in size, making it over 10MB. How am I supposed to put it together exactly?
  9. Train LOD is way too small

I think this fixed it: pivot, adjust transform, find the reset section and hit scale, and re-export FBX I did reset the xform and collapsed the modifiers as well but not sure if that made any impact
  10. So I'm not sure what's going on, the LOD for my metro train is extremely small. I did not create a separate LOD, I just dumped the one the game auto generated but with my own tweaked textures. I tried increasing the size of the LOD via 3ds max 250% and it still comes out this small. Any idea what is going on here? For my asset I'm using scale 39 with bottom center pivot.
  11. Ok, I'm going to not float the trains and set y=0 then, looks like there's too many unintended consequences. The specular mask issue is resolved if I use bottom center pivot. Hopefully you guys can code something to raise the trains globally.
  12. Will you be editing the MOM rail meshes or the regular trains? Forgot to mention that I'm making a metro train. As for the specular mask issue, this is what I'm referring to. I assume it is like this because I made the train float.
  13. I raised the height of my train asset that I'm working on so that the wheels are not cutting through the rails. I raised the pivot point via 3ds max and I got the train floating but noticed two glitches: 1. Wheels do not rotate, the wiki says that whatever is closest to the ground is supposed to rotate so I'm not sure what's wrong 2. Specular mask does not adjust the height appropriately so the window reflections do not work at the top of the windows, it just shows the diffuse color 3. Passenger light does not adjust the height appropriately so you see a bright ball of light on close up view at night at the bottom of the train Is there a way to fix these glitches or am I forced to use bottom center pivot and make everything pinned to the ground?
  14. Is there a way to mark something in the illumination mask so that it always glows no matter what time/what direct it is going? This doesn't look right to me, all of the red on the train is supposed to be lit
