Best way too find stuff ?

It is great there are so many custom models and im quite new to this. Big problem for me is that it's so insane hard to find the stuff you are looking for in 1000's of pages. 

For example where can I find custom hospitals/schools/musea's ?

Where can I find all the : residental buildings/offices/industrial and stuff.

Their must be a better way then searching page by page ...

Type site:community.simtropolis.com/files into Google, then type what you're looking for after that and hit enter.

can't give you an overall recommendation. Because the community did grow over many years to get orientation and insight may take while.

Me I always enjoyed to browse through this thread - as many people had the same questions I have before me.

Also there are given many links to different download sites - even to the secret stash.

 

Second thing: you can browser for the creators name (avatar) on the STEX. So if you like some style you can browse for all of the files this creator uploaded.

Often I simply use a search engine like google and just type 'SC4+hospital'.

Often it's better to use main search engines - @CorinaMarie may explain how to use them effective, she's better skilled on this than me.

 

 

I agree: there is so much to explore on SC4 content - you have to take some time. It isn't done in weeks. It takes years to discover it all.

My method is the same as @Jolteon's. He might even be the one who taught me that when I was new here. I do it backwards, but it still works. For instance let's start with hospitals. I'd do this in Google:

hospital site:https://community.simtropolis.com/files/

But also try variations:

medical site:https://community.simtropolis.com/files/
clinic site:https://community.simtropolis.com/files/
doctor site:https://community.simtropolis.com/files/

And do similar searches on SC4Devotion's LEX:

hospital site:https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/
medical site:https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/
clinic site:https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/
doctor site:https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/

And, ofc, switch up for when you want school, museum, residential, house, home, commercial, office, high-rise, mid-rise, industrial, industry, factory, and so on. You can fine tune your search by using quotes around something you want to be found exact such as "under construction" or you can tell Google you want two words to be present like +house +pool.

As @Fantozzi said, once you find something you like do check their other files. On a STEX page there is the Find their other files linky.

It's in the list in the Index of Useful SC4 Resources - Look Here First thread. We re-designed this so there is an all in one reference for peeps to refer to as well as clean up the clutter of having half a page of pinned topics. With so many of them they sort of drowned each other out.

And, @svenson, that thread is a good place to find other linkys to good stuff.
