    Love the Jewel-Osco!

I noticed there is a new version of the Hy-Vee, do I need to re-download it for new changes? Thanks!

Looking very nice, especially having been to Chicago quite a bit.

One of the last times I was there (a couple years ago), I noticed this under construction and it's now complete. It's a plaza built/anchored by a Korean supermarket, but it's also got a two-story retail/office portion (and a one-story one). Quite stylish, too, if you ask me.

Thanks. And yeah that shopping plaza/offices are very modern in style.

Nice I know you have made a couple but are you gonna make this into a Kroger also? If not It’d  make a good future Ruler Foods location. P.S. many have been remodel into Farming store or Save A Lot stores.

I love the retro design! This will look good in the older parts of my city’s shopping districts! 😊

I've done more than enough Kroger stores, so that is a definite no. However reusing this for a Ruler Foods location isn't a bad suggestion at all. Very likely that will happen as a prop building

Retro styles have much more character and personally are a bit more appealing to me because they have a story. Not that I have anything against modern stuff, I just enjoy history or the story behind a building more.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now at 90% complete for the plaza itself. Roof junk is all that remains. Then it is on to doing a Hardee's restaurant that may or may not be modern in design.

    1. Haha! I was wondering if anyone would catch that. This is actually inspired by former Grant City and/or Grants stores. Many of which Kmart wound up taking over, so there's your explanation. In fact the location I based this plaza upon had a Kmart in this style up until last month.

    2. You'll see soon enough. :)

Something I'll have to keep in mind for sure. I've got plans for projects and even IRL stuff that will keep me busy for the next month or so, but we'll have to see after that. I will say that because one does already exist on the STEX as @thecitiescenter pointed out, it will not be at the high end of my priority list.

It does look almost similar to the shopping center in Lewistown, PA.  I assume there would be a grocery store as an anchor tenant.

Actually, I choose not to give it a grocery store as an anchor. I don't want to give it away at this point, as I'm almost completed with the project.

@dubaidude303 I think its a safe bet that Homegoods and Trader Joe's will come eventually. Likely in a plaza that would also include Christmas Tree Shops.

@Billk2007 Not bad suggestions overall, but some (like Torrid and Apple Store) are high end stores usually only found inside malls (so pointless for me) or an outlet center. A number of those are restaurants so I have my doubts about making them unless found in a shopping plaza; though Carrabbas is an excellent brand for me to possibly use as an outparcel in a future upscale plaza.

I see many of your suggestions are regional as well which makes sense as I've never heard of some of them. Not saying I won't do them; but they are less likely when a part of a larger complex. Since Westgate Plaza was a smaller shopping plaza, it was reasonable to do more regional brands. If you didn't notice, it uses a lot of southern United States brands. Let me just say to you all that I prefer to use national brands or made up generic stores when making larger plazas that way they are usable to everyone. That's one of the reasons why I don't usually do supermarkets in my shopping centers.

Gordmans and Hobby Lobby have been made already, but it is possible I may use them again like I did for Marshalls.

Check cashing stores, Bingo halls, Chinese and Japanese buffets, laundromats, ethnic beauty supplies, tobacco and vape shops, DMV's, puppy mills and aquarium stores, martial arts schools, gyms, Democrat and Republican recruiters, sports bars and "authentic" English pubs. Find them all the time at cut-rate plazas. Not a request, just suggestions.
