I am not having any luck with searching the forum for this so i'm just going to ask.

1.  does anyone know of a decent school bus prop?

(other than this one http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=655927209 )

2.  if not, how hard would it be to turn an existing vehicle into a prop version?

like this one http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=483867475

if someone has posted a how to or walkthrough on conversion i should at least be able to get a local copy for use.  i wouldnt post to the workshop with out original uploaders thumbs up.

Thanks!

You can follow this guide and just skip the editing of textures. Getting the model and textures out and importing them as a prop is the same as described in the guide. Hope that helps (I really should add some pictures to that guide)

I've been wondering before: since the model/textures are 100% identical, why aren't all vehicles automatically available as props as well: that would save most of us tons of - basically double - subscriptions?
I'm aware vehicles and props aren't the same from the game's point of view, but wouldn't it be possible to make a mod that automatically converts all available vehicles into props during the loading process. I reckon the main issue would be to persistently register vehicles as 'virtual' PropInfo (PropInfo variants) prefabs, but if this would be possible, I think it could open new doors for props with custom textures (like for example road signs), which could then be registered as virtual props as well....

@Judazzz There is illumination map incompatibility. If _i texture from a vehicle will be converted to prop, whole car (as prop) will be lit, except turning indicators, since they are painted black in _i texture. OK, so a suggestion is for a system to skip illumination texture, but then what if mod author wants to make special illumination for a car prop? Like headlights turned on and etc. Illumination can't be skipped in that case.

Aanya thanks for the link.  i will give it a go once home tonight.

Judazzz similar to the train station converter for MOM possibly?

pauliayz adding lights to say prop police/fire but would this require yet another subscription to a with / without lights version of the prop/vehicle?

    thanks for the ideas/responses guys
