Can someone explain the method to create model textures just like the Maxi's ones? I've been trying to create these textures on Photoshop, but I am struggling on that. I think we have a lack of tutorials on that. The only information I found was very basic, that gives information about Hue / Saturation, Gradient, etc. I am looking for more than that. I want understand how they create the details. Maxis textures does not look photo realistic at all, they all look hand made textures. Can someone provide some information on that?

Whilst there are some fundamentals to creating textures, how you do it can vary hugely. The best tutorial is the one I believe I linked you too previously by @Gn_leugim. It covers buildings up separate layers into a texture that should look and feel at home with other SC4 content. Bear in mind also, Maxis were using (by today's standards) archaic software tools and equipment to make their models. Of course you can look to emulate that yourself, but we can do so much better here in 2016. @madhatter106 is the shining beacon of how to model in SC4BAT, making models that compliment the base game, whilst still being a huge quality improvement over the originals. I'd check out his development thread, if nothing else, it should give you plenty of inspiration.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Maybe you can post your questions in your BAT thread or the BAT Troubleshootin thread instead of opening a new topic every time.

About your question, my approach would be just to try out different textures I can find on the net, maybe game related textures create most this effect you are seeking.

Bear in mind that the process takes a bit of time. I took some time to learn how to mimic the maxis style of texture and building, and I guess Maddhatter106 has too. Even after that, I take quite a lot of time to get a texture done. it is undoubtedly the most lengthy process of my BATing process.

It is also advisable to use gmax together with some image editing software (I see you use Photoshop, so good) to get it done. 3d max has vastly improved modelling features, and is even capable of taking care of most of the texture manipulation if I am not wrong, and thus create much better and more realistic models, but its render engine will make your models stand out versus the rest, specially maxis ones.

For what I've seen, you are from Brazil, so, if you need/wish to, contact me via pm and we can talk in PT regarding it.
