Nam 34 and weird intersections

as you can see my intersections with NAM 34 are a bit weird! When I installed I did the default install. Is this some sort of setting in NAM or is it in need of reinstalling?

Yes, that's the result of a texture option included in the NAM--it's the "New York City-style Large Intersections" option, which, using Custom Installation, is found under Road Textures and Markings > Options for American-Style Road Textures.  I'd reinstall the mod to uncheck that box--don't uninstall beforehand, though, or otherwise, you'll lose all your other settings (see here). 

Alternatively, you could simply find the "zzzNAM_Retexture_and_Cosmetic_Mod_NYC_Intersections_Optional.dat" file in your Plugins (it would probably be in z___NAM\Road Textures\Standard Retexture and Cosmetic Mod).  The absence of that file would uncheck that box by default if you change your options or update later.
