I don't know how many people here remember me. But I will be doing a Sim Mars City Journal to bring life back to the Modd I had a hand in creating. I will be making new buildings and new Lots for the modd. This will be what  andisart first started and I took over for McAsh who ran the old team. I ran the new team that took over the project. In my absence the modd was taken in a new direction however I will be taking it back to its original design. I am looking forward to bringing my designs back and new and old buildings back.

    The above residential buildings were based off these building from Outpost 1.5. Both are stage one Residential homes.

    Rebel colony has been established. The new mayor took off from colony 1 to start his own colony. The goals of this colony is to use the land and establish a farming community. first thing was first Water Power and residential buildings had to be built.

    Solar Power was decided upon. Rather than use the limited water tower it was decided that the colony would build the water extraction pumping station.  

    Low residential buildings were to be the primary homes of the colonists. next was the agradomes for Farming and providing food. The colony started small and took years to grow larger as all newly started colonies start out. Some 150 colonist left colony 1 to join the rebel colony claiming that the colony had failed to provide the basic needs with out using up a great deal of funds provided by NASA before the ships left the dieing world of Earth.

    a few years later seeing the need for a growing colony to advance into mining it was agreed that a small hi residential sector would be allowed. keeping the over building in check and the land from all the towering buildings a small sector in the middle of the colony was zoned. at this point resources are running low and so the people zoned a large sector for mining ores to keep the building and maintenance needs of the colony moving forward.

    Mars site 001 landing and colonization site.

    The last best hope for the human race. In the year 3024 the planet Earth has become  a world of towering forest of steel building's. Ships were constructed in space. Probes were sent out to try and find a new world a suitable world. Mars being the closest planet a small band of colonists launched two cargo ships to reach Mars 6 months ahead of the colonization ships. In 3025  two colonization ships launched to meet this new world. Each ship carried 150 people in cryo to Mars. Once there probs were launched to choose a site and then the solar satellite and the one and only communication satellite was launched. Once in orbit the cargo ships landed on mars. Once the colonization ships launched the colonization landers and the colonists touched down they quickly constructed the command center which would be where they would live until the first residential buidling would be constructed. The command center would be the heart of the colony. Providing a smelter, CHAP facility, food storage, common ore storage, and residential living quarters.

    Command Center constructed... featuring 3 of my buildings I created a while back.

    Solar Power and water pumping station built. Base camp set up. Commander sits at his desk consulting the AI system to plan out zoning for this first site. The goal of base camp is to create a colony devoid of towering buildings. In a harsh environment this should be rather easy. The AI named SAL has suggested that low residential buildings be zoned as well as domed farms to start with limiting air pollution within the colony structures. The small CHAP Facility built within the main command center will only be able to recycle and clean a limited amount of contaminated air. This will be stage one. Stage 2 will require research labs to created a larger and more efficient CHAP Facility along with a smaller command center that can be built from the structure factories that will create the structure kits allowing for easy transport to a new site built by cargo trucks. All structures must be connected to the command center to function properly. Stage 3 mining structures far enough away from the main base as to keep contaminated air at a minimal.  Stage 4 will be to evac 500 colonist to a new site and start construction of advanced labs Hot labs and a space port along with a university to train new scientists for new research. We will keep stage 5 a secret as its TOP SECRET....

    Outpost is still my favorite game. So is outpost two.  Ill have an update in a few days. Soon as I figure out how to do bats again. Ill have some new buildings based off outpost. Also ill be reviving some of my old bats into new lots as well. We will see how things go. :D

    Evacuations have begun. 500 colonist have been evacuated to a larger more suitable site.

    Commander Dale has been made mayor of this colony.  Things are going well. Evacuations from the first Landing site to Main Base Camp continues daily. The census has reported main base now has a population of just over 1,000 colonists and this number grows daily . Farms and housing have already been built.

    as the colony grows and thrives we are seeing some nicer habitats being built.

       When funds become available (Schools) Labs will be built so the colony's main goal of research can begin. The next step will be to construct a new improved command base as well as a space port to start the construction of Mars Space Station and a dry doc. A hot Lab will also be built and constructed for research that is not safe at the local research facilities. We don't want any unexpected accidents to happen. 

     

    Goals of this mission

    Build space port

    built space station and dry doc

    evac 20,000 units common ore

    evac 20,000 units rare ore

    evac 10,000 units of food

    evac 5,000 colonist

    This mission will take a longer period of time. keeping to the stringent guidelines to keep pollution down and keep the agradomes up and running will be a difficult task but with the help of the AI SAL we hope to come up with a viable solution while keeping the colony growing and thriving. The commercial sector has been a bit slow to grow as it currently does not seem to be needed at this stage but the sector has been zoned.

    Forgive me on this, but peeps may not be familiar with this acronym so from the Outpost game manual: "The CHAP (Closed Habitat Atmospheric Production) Facility produces a breathable environment for most of the colony structures."

     

    And I love how your colony is developing. I'd like to see a zoomed out picture to so I can get a feel for the overall layout too. ;)

    Whole colony view Corina as you can see that rail runs straight through the middle of the map connecting two city's. and to the right connecting another city. had to cut the road connections to get the commercial sectors to grow. Traffic is a challenge in this city.

    Is there a chance SimMars Beta 4 could finally come out? Or at least the full version compatible with NAM?

    At present I dont know what the status of rhe project stands. As far as I can tell it's not being worked on. It has been moved to another site. But dont remember where.
