Hi all! Just joined the forum and wow the information is incredible. So I downloaded SC4 from Orion and when I play the bridges flicker and
the screen is boxed like the resolution isnt right. Any help? Also any Mods to increase demand like crazy?

Thanks soo much!

We actually have a specific subforum for tech issues like this and we do have a search engine for this here file exchange, although it's still not all up to snuff... I personally use this demand mod from time to time:

But it's best to be a little careful with these kinds of mods because the RCI-demand is a very essential mechanic to the game and I try to intervene with it as little as possible. Which is not to say I've encountered any huge issues with the above mod, because I haven't.

As for the resolution thing, are you running on software or hardware rendering? You can find this out in the graphics settings in game.

From the region view, click the little ... button in the top right. Find the graphics options and see if it's set to hardware or software. Likely the problem is due to incompatibilities between your GPU (Graphics hardware/drivers) and SC4. Being an older game, some newer equipment doesn't play nicely with it. In such cases switching to software mode will resolve the issue, since the GPU's job is now handled by your processor or CPU.

This is not ideal, it's a compatibility mode to ensure the game will work regardless. If you feel up to it, you may be able to resolve the problems and keep using hardware rendering by following the steps here.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

When you post a general question like that in this technical forum, you should include your system's details:

    1. CPU & RAM
    2. GPU & it's RAM
    3. Build version of the game

This information will help us direct you to a specific solution.
