Yes, you can.  I think the information you want is in the Omnibus which is not yet on line in this conversion.  However, you might look at:

BAT4Max, allows 3DS max users to create content for SC4. If you check out the BAT4Max documentation it should hopefully make everything clearer. So far as I know, you need to export the 3DS Max file and render it using SC4BAT, but I could be wrong, either way without BAT4Max it isn't likely to work.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Well then I'm not exactly sure what it is you feel needs explaining?

Assuming you are familiar with 3DS Max, exporting a model should be a doddle, importing it into SC4BAT is pretty intuitive too (hint: use File-->Export/Import menus).

Instructions are included with BAT4Max, it should explain installation and usage - once installed you should notice the export options menu has changed in SC4BAT.

Anything else you are unclear on is nothing to do with BAT4Max per-se. Are you perhaps looking for a tutorial to get started modelling, because that's a whole different kettle of fish?

There is one real hooker here.  Like it or not, you have to install and activate gmax because the BAT is a gmax gamepack.  The BAT is activated from the gmax menus.

My only question is what is exactly bat4max?, It is a addon to 3ds max?

So 3DS Max is the professional product, gmax was intended to be a cut-down version of this, it would be free so gamers could use it to mod their game, hence you can't do a lot of the more complex stuff with it. SC4BAT is simply a set of scripts/settings for gmax that ensures the final export conforms to the requirements of SC4 and thus work in game.

The point of BAT4MAX is to allow people to create with 3DS max, but still have the final exported model work with SC4. I don't use 3DS max myself, so I don't know the process of exporting models, but I'm pretty sure it's not possible to create SC4 content without SC4BAT to render the final model, BAT4MAX facilitates this process somehow.

One of the best ways to find out what a program does is to quit pussy-footing around and ask it.
