I found somthing interesting.
Wetaskiwin is classifeid as a desert region.
For the last 10 years there has been and average of less than 250mm annualy.*
And an average july temperature of 21C(16 in edmonton)*
The reason is the low number of storms in the area, most of alberta's preciptaion falls from thunderstorms thanks to the mountains.
Thus less storms means less rain.
Wetskiwin has the most northery grove of healthy Oak trees, the oldest willow in alberta(103 years old/12 foot base).
There is also basswood, honey locast, and subtropical elm.
Some guy even planted a hardy bamboo(-20C tolerance) tree in his yard that lasted 3 years before it got cold enough to kill it.
And it is one of the only places in alberta that have outdoor roaches, and other huge insects in the summer.

*due to the fact that the climate information is private, environment canada does not have acsess to it, so you will not find data for wetaskiwin on whetheroffice.

I live in paradise here in Tampa, Florida. Beautiful weather all year round. Coldest temp. is 27*F, Hottest Temp. 98*F. It's awesome when it rains here too, cuz sometimes it is still sunny out. Othertimes it is dark and thundering. But hey! The city is beautiful, the beaches are beautiful, the weather is fantastic.

I love Tampa!

Boy, I'll tell you I miss my California weather. It's miserably hot and humid here. Give me back my 85* with low, low humidity summers and 60* winters.

Another beautiful day here in Ottawa. Mid 20's again and sunny... no clouds, no rain. I was outside for most of the afternoon.

It's overcast and rainy in Ottawa too... not raining much, just a drizzle now and then. It is only about 20C as well...
