Boy, I'll tell you I miss my California weather. It's miserably hot and humid here. Give me back my 85* with low, low humidity summers and 60* winters.

Crappy. Hot and humid. I want my California weather back...85*F and no humidity in summer, 60*F with occasional rain in winter! Oh yeah! I'd be on the d@mn beach every day if I lived there again.

I'd have to say Pele...simply a legend. And Mia Hamm, can't forget the ladies! I think Zidane put himself out of the running with that crap he pulled in the World Cup. It was incredibly selfish and stupid, not to mention unsportsmanlike, and is not the mark of a legendary person of any kind. I gotta admit though, the head butt put some excitement into soccer!!

I noticed that my region was in a pretty intense recession, and after building a farming town, it seemed to recover big time. I for one don't think that the farms should be completely ignored...

If the medium tile is the one I think it is, my largest is 244k. It occasionally swings up to 248k, but 244 seems to be its support level. This is with 108k commercial, about 5k hi-tech industry, trains, and a large complex housing all my rewards (University, both stadiums, disease research, etc.), as well as having all my power plants and waste disposal units within the city.

The biggest city has grown to 244k, but I have only started four new cities adding about 300k people and some industry. The other 140k came from consolidating other cities and building up the urbanization and population density in existing cities. Only about half the region is built up, I hope to someday make 7 million.

I regard the region as a state, and "pretend" there's a regional governor. He has complete authority to appoint a mayor for a city within the region, and give a mandate to that mayor to build the city in a certain way. Thus, the regional governor (you) oversees broadly how and where every city is placed, while the mayor (also you) does the day to day work. Eventually, the entire region becomes part of the greater metropolitan area.

It's actually pretty easy to do. I've done it before in a search without actually realizing it. Besides, I don't see what the hoopla is all about with reviving threads anyway.
