What do you think of my new, custom board game, City Landlords?

OK. I have put some of the finishing touched on my new board game, which I started working on 3 years ago. I have the board finalized (though I have to get $20~ posters of the board printed out and glue them onto folding foam board, though I have yet to master the glueing part down because it always buckles when folded). I have 10 high quality prints of each of the district cards.

Now, I just need to make the property blocks/units/game-pieces. I have a rough design on how I think they should look.

Here is the game board:

Here is my idea for the buildings:

Here are some examples of the districts:

I am thinking about designing the buildings/pieces in 3Ds Max (since this will be for entertainment and educational purposes and not commercial purposes, and I will use my university email address to get the student version) and getting these printed out at the 3D printer at my university.

So, what do you all think of this?

I think you'd better have a Copyright agreement with Parker Bros.

UPDATE: I finished creating the physical board game prototype. It is pretty fun (though the prototype is not high quality and it would be very expensive to make a high quality version, even if it is made in China) and I have played it with a few friends. I liked the game I made so much that I want to make it into a video board game using Unity 3D. I want to make the video game exactly like my board game just have it played on a computer instead of on a table. Unity is free for me if I don't make much money (anywhere) and 3Ds Max for students (which I got with my student email) is free as long as I don't make any money from the projects and I don't plan on making any money off my projects because I do not want to get in trouble with Parker Brothers, Hasbro, or EA. If they team up against me it would be very bad. Hasbro and EA own the rights to Monopoly City and SimCity (though the city simulator aspect is not possible to be protected) and Parker Brothers own the rights to Monopoly and The Landlord's Game. It would be really cool if I could make my video game be a fun multiplayer game to be played on a living room entertainment device/computer (such as one of those Microsoft tables or a holographic display, if either of those ever catch on).

Anyway, here is an album with the models:

I was originally planning on importing the games textured with a monochrome shiny texture to look like plastic but I gave some of my buildings simple and tinted textures (either each part monochrome with the edges rendered like a cartoon or each part getting a texture). I want your opinion on what would look better for a 3D computerized board game. Some of the renders are orthgraphic isometric and some of them are perspective. My board game will have perspective but the renders with textures look like a classic video game when they are isometric.

So, what style do you recommend?

After posting this on XLNation's chatroom, CityBuilderGames's Forum, and Planet Random and getting timely feedback in chat, I managed to finalize my art work for Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Skyscrapers. All I need now are the land value boosters and the NIMBY hazards.

Hold on, this looks like Monopoly to me, I can't remember the version but it looks like one, I think it is Monopoly Millionaire.

You might consider redesigning the board under a new arrangement of the elements in a different format. That's like Macintosh and Windows.

I could probably make it [the board] zigzag. I will most likely mess around with the game board in my video game and redesign the physical board after I finalize the design of the videogame.

Update: I finalized the new board design and drafted up the new district names and prices as well as finalized the cost of buildings for the districts and the equation to calculate rent.

I mostly finalized the new rules.

What do you think of it now?

Looks good. Much of the litigation risk has been mitigated.
