Looking great as usual, jt. I personally liked the windows how they were, but as it seems a majority didn't then I guess it was best to change them.

That Made in Oregon sign looks just about like the real thing. I can't compliment you enough on your work.

Wow, the Pacwest center is coming along nicely, the lights are a bit much, like everybody else said, but very nice, and that's a cool sign as well16.gif35.gif40.gif

poiuy1208, i kept the same kind of effect, but only alot less noticeable.

HK, thanks! glad to hear you use almost all my buildings! about pacwest, thanks for all your suggestion! but i've already re-rendered it 5 times now and i think i have spent more than enough time on it, so i will move on to other portland landmarks.

well, i was going to keep this in the bag untill i started my Portland CJ, but it looks like that might take a little more time than i thought...

thanks everybody!

Tunafish, that's cool that you've seen this before, it looks pretty cool at night! especially in december hehe

MallowTheCloud, i kept the same kind of effect, but toned down a lot, so there are still some night window maps, but very faint. glad ya like the sign too.

thanks crazy, like i said to mallow, i toned the window maps down alot! i actually do think it looks better now, i'll post a pic of it in game today maybe...

thanks portlandexpos!

subedei, thanks! but i wasn't sure if i was going to post the Made in Oregon sign, since it is pretty locational. but if more people want it, i'll be happy to post it 19.gif

Wow jtportland, that neon sign is incredible! And it's the same for the nightlighting on the Pacwest Center... how many polys did the furniture take up? The realism is just astounding!
Good luck on your upcoming CJ, it's going to look great with all these Portland BATs. 19.gif

thanks panthersimcity4, if you look back a few pages i already made Pioneer Courthouse, i used the the city hall in SC4, because they look almost exactly alike.

Monteferro, thanks! glad you like the night lighting :D
as for PacWest... there is no furniture inside , i used random floor textures to give the effect of furniture, to save time and polies 18.gif ... just a little trick i came up with.

sorry no updates yet, i've been having problems exporting PacWest, everytime either the whole building, or half the building is replaced with distorted maxis's buildings, does anybody know why this keeps happening! argh, i'll have to re export it tonight.

JT, the buildings look great. That sign is amazing. How in the world did you get the neon effect on the sign???? The deer appears to be a map but what about the rest?

thanks outdoorsman03! the neon effect was pretty easy actually. i used (a white) target direct spotlight, and put it on the lines i wanted it to light up, then put a short decay on it so it didn't light up the support posts behind it. i think there's a better tutorial about neon lights around here somewhere... if you'd like, i can post pics of what it looks like in gmax? or post the file itself, so people can see how it's done.

outdoorsman, i'll post a pic of it in gmax sometime today for ya.

Gemika, thanks! City Projects have been around ST for a while now actually, i know there's a Paris Project... and there are a few others. but the portland project is unique in the fact that we actually are making the custom BAT buildings for it (and for the cummunity too of course) 19.gif

Great work JT!  I really love the Portland buildings.

Just out of curiousity, is One Main Place on a triangular lot in real life?  Any plans on placing the ploppable on lot so it can be used with a diagonal road?  I know sargeantcm did this with one of his Buffalo buildings and it has been very useful.

thanks subedei, super, crazy, poiuy, baldy and dev!

glad you all like the portland buildings i've been making! hehe

baldy, this is on a 4x4 square lot in real life, but i can make it so it can be on a diagnal lot, that's a very good idea 3.gif

here's what it looks like in real life by satellite

onemainplace.jpg

also, i updated the bat building from the last update to make it more skinier, so it's not so fat now lol. the next set of images of this building should be posted on my portland CJ some time within the next few days 19.gif

Wow! this site is full of amazing threads! I could spend all day and still find new stuff to download.

Anyways... I used to live in Grants Pass OR so I think these portland buildings are way to freaking cool! Great work to everyone involved.
