Simtropolis Podcast - An Idea for the Future

Well...I thought it was pretty cool! I have used Audacity before and it is a pretty powerful program, it's gonna be cool to see where this is going.

The teaser was great guys.  Very nicely done and I can't wait for a full episode.

My only suggestion, and it has already been mentioned, would be to shorten the intro music.  I thought the song selection for the intro was great BTW.

Now that I've gotten to listen to the podcast, I think it is awesome.  I love that voice right at the end.  Would it be possible to mention the file size of the podcasts so that those of us who want to download the file will know how big the file is?  Otherwise, I think this is going to be great.

2. Audacity is too good to be a free program, and it's great to see you guys taking advantage of it.

Excellent! It got my all excited for the next addition and I think this is going to be great. It puts a voice behind the members, and is a great way to catch up on the latest news, being in a different time zone, I often miss out on alot of the action, and even for really active people its easy to miss something huge on this large site. Thanks for doing this guys because it will be entertaining and useful, expecially if its on par with that great preview.

You should make a link to this on the home page, a little box or something which would show a link to the latest update, a small bit of text saying what its about and a link to a comprehensive list of all the episodes to download. I have a great feeling that this will be the next big thing for simtropolis and and would give it even more of a unique feel!

I just had a thought, for the opening theme you should use the opening theme from simcity 3000, does anybody remember that? It would be a great little intro piece, but then the one you have now sounds great!

I like it just the way that it is.  The intro is a nice length, and I love how the various sounds don't all start at once.

It would be nice if the volume of the hosts are roughly stabilized, because I could barely hear simman with the volume really turned up, and GB nearly blasted my ears off at that volume.

 

All in all, I think that this will take ST to the next level!

 

PS - Dirk, did you ever think that your site would have its own podcast?

Yes, great idea and a very nice job by those two. I have a really hard time imaging people's voices but I think GingerBloakey is awesome, always have dug the British accent. I believe it could be a bit better, but hey for just a teaser it was great and I certainly look foward to more updates!
