I'd like it even if it was a stand-alone set on the STEX. I'd really like to do it myself, so that i could say i contributed in some way, but I can't actually use graphics programs, no matter how hard I try. it always ends up terrible.

what I want from the next NAM version are 6 and 8 lane avenues (with one-way versions included) and 8 or 10 lane highways also with one way versions that are realistic (like divided and without walls on both sides). Onramps and connections to roads and avenues would also be great on those extra-lane highways.

(Well, except maybe diagonal streets....)quote>

They're functional. Someone over in the NAM dev thread's made them behave like a normal road.

What I meant by the comment was that diagonal streets are functionally identical to a staircased street, which makes the modification to make them look diagonal a visual improvement only.

Is it just me or this thread STAGNATING!!! I think that someone (me possibly) could make a list of all the requests so far. EDIT: Demonstrating my incredibly poor painting skills, I am about to show the 4-lane road that can fit on a 1x1 square, no sidewalks, narrow, or anything! THE HORROR!

Notice the X inbetween the LRT tracks, I would like to see this added to the GLR as it would remove the need for huge loops to turn a train around.

No it would'nt, that just enables the trains to switch tracks. Thery're still not turned around.

Electric trains, in all cities I've seen, never turn around -- the engineer just switches to the other end of the train. Even when diesel trains turn around, they don't use loops, but go through a series of swtiching maneuvers on a railyard or a side track

yes, that is most of the time the case, but, you would need more switches than that to turn around. And besides, you can make a similar loop in only 2*2 squares. Or you could just use the U-Turn lots, available on the STEX.

1. To find my RHW/Avenue crossover, go to zillow.com, search for Caldwell, TX, follow SH-21 east, until hitting 47. That's a great shot. Then go on 47 south until FM 60. Ta-da!

2. A "cross-traffic does not stop" add-on.

Not really, the engine could just uncouple from the carriages and rejoin the other end by switching to an adjacent track, travelling to the end, then switching back again to recouple.

But, justintime, if you try to be even a little politer you may get more positive feedback on your request than this.

I have a request. I'm not being pushy, tho I am kinda impatient (Character Flaw lol) My request is some sort of milepost about the next NAM, after all its been over a year since the last one was released and from what it sounds like mostly everything is done, it just needs to be coded into the same language? I dunno, maybe I'm oversimplifying it, but from what I've read throughout the threads, most of the parts are done and its just being held up by one or 2 ppl. Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if i am, I'd still like an update as to how far it is and what is left to do.

There will be another NAM, trust me. The question is not if but when.

in my downtown, we have a bunch of roads that are one ways.

i think three lane one ways would be nice! so they can handle a lot of traffic for downtown and not use a lot of room.

and a 6 lane avenue would be cool too, but if we got the 3 lane avenues ill live with that.

also i reallllllllllllllllyyyyy need a freeway that can hold more traffic

i have a city that has 77,000 sims traveling in ONE direction on the freeway, let alone the other way.

we need 8 or 10 or 12 lane freeways!! then some rural freeways of 6 lanes and 8 lanes.

I'm just happy with the rural highway, high speed rail, double deck bridge and the upcoming Big Dig, those will tide me over for awhile 9.gif

This seems like a relatively simple request, so hopefully it can be accomodated. I'm wondering whether somebody can cook up alternate GLR puzzle pieces with eye-candy props; e.g. trees lining the rail, concrete curbs, etc. to spruce them up a little.

Thanks.

I dont really like posting requests much as i know how busy the nam team are, but i was wondering if there is any chance of there being raised road/rail/avneue peices made without supporting pillars. This would be uselfull as with raised road in real life there wouldn't as many supports as there are when useing the NAM.

thanks

that would be very very unrealistic because (i think you know) it's phisically impossible

Long-time listener, first-time caller.

I would like to humbly request a few small additions.

First, I'd like to put in a vote for Avenues with center left turn lane --- so that sims do not have to make a U-turn down the block in order to get to work on the left side of the avenue.

I'd also like to see the textures for roads transitioning to avenues changed to be more realistic. No one would build one of these transitions like the texture included in the game. I doubt any path changes would be needed.

I've attached my idea of what it should look like. In the game this is actually four "squares".

(Feel free to chop this up back into the four different textures and use it)

I have a request so I can progress on a GLR-related "graphics improvement project".

I'm looking for the base textures for all intersection types (road, aveneue, one-way, street) so that I can work on creating a unique GLR/avenue intersection.

Also, because I know its going to be released eventually, whoever is in charge of the GLR can you please send me a PM with a list of the new tiles that are now included (things like the diagonal road crossing, if thats done yet). I do NOT want .dat files or anything like that, I'm just into doing the textures.

Thanks.

I don't think anyone has an easily accessible database of textures...if you have Ilive's Reader, go to Tools > Texture Viewer > Street/Road/Rail/Highway > Zoom 5 > and you'll see a majority of them. As for new GLR pieces, I do not know of any...(I am unsure of the status of the diagonal GLR-diagonal road crossing)...except for the GLRxRHW piece. I can get you the old texture for that.
