I've been making license plates like these for years for my cities or otherwise and have always wondered if anyone else did. Here's finding out!

These are for my make-believe island nation, Koher'nosoe. The top left can either be the national flag or national crest (a stylised eagle which I was too lazy to make), the bottom left is a city identifier (in this case Sekía), the top right is the year of registration (this stays with the car for the rest of its life, regardless of owner), and, finally, the bottom right is a sticker showing the driver's license class ('8' means 'new driver,' like me IRL).

Oh, sorry. I wasn't sure if it went here or not but thought it would be okay after seeing the 'show is you newspapers' thread. Anyway, do your magic, mods :lost:

EDIT: I didn't make it clear in the OP, but I meant 'show us your license plates for your SimCity cites,' if that caused confusion. If it still needs to be moved or deleted that's fine.

I'm pretty sure you're fine right here. What inspiration did you use for the license plate design?

Oh gosh, I've made about a trillion license plates over the last four years or so and each seems to be based on the last. In this case, the bar on the right is inspired by Italian plates and the colour-coding is (somewhat loosely) based on Japanese plates with Japan having yellow plates for cars under 660cc and green plates for commercial vehicles. As for the shape, I, being from North America, have decided that I dislike nearly everything about North America, especially when it comes to car-related things, so I chose the 53 x 11cm size seen in Europe and Africa, among other places. The rest is basically just trial and error from other fictional license plates I've made.

This doesn't go in General Off-Topic. This is perfectly fine here - this is what this section of the forum is for, showcasing in-game and meta-SC4 (and meta-game) material. There is a LOT of material in this section of the forum that has nothing to do with SC4 (Simcity 5, Cities in Motion, etc etc) and it doesn't make it any less valid.

Nice plates, I ought to work on making my own for Cyrodiil. ^^

We don't have many cars in Schulmania. Actually, in 90+% of the country they are banned, Here's 2 cities which allow them.

Hi. I know this is an old topic, but anyways, i just would like to share mine. I know they are not nice, but at least i tried :D

So, Each License plate has the format LL-NNN-LL. The first 2 letters indicate the place. NW= North west, SO= South etc. Then, there are the numbers and letters. they start at 001-AA and gradually increases and stops at 999-ZZ. You will also notice the colored band to the right. It tells the vehicle category. Red is for commercial, Blue is Public vehicle, etc. And finally, there are the numbers on the colored strip and it tells you when the vehicle is bought. For example 10|14 means October 2014. 1 plate will stay with the car forever unless the owner asks for a new one.

Hi y'all. So I officially don't really have a region yet as I'm just getting back into playing SC4 but I did make some fantasy license plates for my planned region. The name and the flag aren't final yet.

    Private Vehicle:

    pqMDjuU.jpg

Nothing special here, just a basic license plate. On the left is the country's flag, code, and names in its two official languages. On the right is the abbreviation code of the district where it was registered.

Buses and other public vehicles for civilian, non-emergency use:

    t6yjggH.jpg

Emergency and other essential vehicles (patrol cars, fire trucks, etc.):

    L5Q4ca7.jpg

The main difference is its color. On both sides you see two letters: B and A. These are the first letters for "Police" in the country's two official languages. Below is "FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY" in the primary official language and lingua franca.
