Nobody is talking "officially".  If this was skullduggery then the crew was in on it.  No hijack squawk, no transponders.  Too convenient.

Yeah Nonny, today I saw on TV news that the plane may have been hijacked and the destination or if is actually dropped or not It's impossible to know. They said there are two devices on the plane that can give the location, and they were off in a few minutes apart, meaning that there was not a tragedy, and that someone knowingly hung these devices. This will certainly be a difficult mystery to unravel.

Hmm. This case is taking so long. As long there is no official reports, official statements, conspiracy theorists will always be on their way. I don't know who's responsible for the investigation but they better wrap up warm and fast otherwise, more and more accusations and doubts will arise.

Oh, I wonder if the next news report will say it is deliberately crashed... things are getting more interesting. I hope they find that plane faster.

Somehow I have a sinking feeling that this mystery is never going to be conclusively solved. Whoever made that plane disappear clearly didn't want it to be found.

Which would be awful for the families of those involved.   It's one thing to conclude that your loved one met a watery grave.  It's another to conclude that they are just missing and could be anywhere.  Including being held captive in some not-friendly location.

Well, either the pilots were in on it, or were very quickly disabled.  It appears to be a rather devious hi-jacking, purpose currently unknown.  I expect the passengers have been disposed of along with the crew.

That's what's odd about this. If the plane were hijacked, you would expect that either:

A) it would have landed in a known location with some form of ransom for the passengers announced,

B) it would have been intentionally crashed into some high-profile target a-la 9/11, or

C) at least have some terrorist group would have claimed responsibility for the incident

 

The fact that nothing noticeable has happened and no one has said anything would seem to imply that whoever hijacked the plane (if that's what happened) acted alone and that therefore everyone who knows what happened is likely dead.

 

But then, if the goal were simply to crash the plane into the ocean, why go through the effort of turning it around and then turning the homing beacon off? It would seem that there must have been an intended destination for the plane to have been diverted to, which the hijacker(s) wished to not be followed to... and perhaps they never made it. I'd be most inclined to believe that that's the case, and the plane crashed into the Indian Ocean somewhere.

 

Alternative explanations are possible but raise further questions - if the goal was to kidnap the passengers to turn them into slaves or test subjects, surely there must be an easier way to capture victims than hijacking an airplane? Unless the pilot himself was complicit, which it has been implied may be possible.

And if the goal was to obtain the plane, why not just buy one? It's a commercial airliner, it doesn't contain any military secrets or anything. Would no entity have been willing to sell them one?

As I have stated earlier. It by no doubt that this plane was deliberately crashed and someone big out there is keeping the information. It might be a terrorist attack but I would rather say that is only a sugarcoating of the real scenario. With 3/4 of the passengers Chinese, one among these people could really be the target.

 

But in another view, can this be actually be used by China as a reason into dispatching further military actions in the South China Sea?

Whatever has happened, someone is keeping very, very quiet, which implies only one person knows.  As Ben Franklin has said, "Three people can keep a secret, if two of them are dead."  If the plot failed and the plane crashed into the Indian ocean, then no one knows.

Yep but it is the 21st century where everything is possible. China has been very very aggressive in their so called territory lately and I would not be surprised if they use this as an alibi for deploying more ships apart from those existing.

 

Yep that is true but I would not say that is done by a small organization. Hiding a huge accident like this definitely requires a lot of connections in that case, we are only left with a few choices. I will not call out names for I am not sure but I know that beyond the facade of news stories we read and hear, someone out there must have been laughing and claiming victory for successfully cleaning a mess.

So perhaps I am making my own but at least I try to make it more rationalized. We definitely cannot deny the possibility of my preceding post, we have seen it too much in our history and if you do not believe that some big people here are definitely involve then it's up to you. 

 

It's not the theory that causes paranoia in my opinion, it's the facts related to them. If a government can spy all the communications channels of its people, I definitely cannot see why they cannot make a plane vanish.

Apparently and sadly, that is true. But the truth itself is subjective and the creation of theories is not a prerogative given only to a handful men. Nobody really knows what happening around and no one knows the exact truth to all and such, as humans as we are it is natural to be skeptical of our environment. 

 

People will definitely not stop making delusions but even my statement here criticizing their theories as delusions is a mere subjective perspective of myself. So even if a final conclusive report comes out, it is not necessary that people will believe it. It is all an issue of how they take matters into mind because personally even if a final report is published, I don't think it is the absolute truth.

All theories are valid until proven wrong.  This is standard quantum behaviour being demonstrated in human affairs.  Wonder which one has the cat, and whether it will be alive.

I agree after all that is really how the world works. All ideas are created equal but those who fail to be proven by concrete facts die and those ideas which are proven by evidences are exalted. However, this is where the problem lies because the truth can sometimes be bent thus even if a theory is substantiated with facts, it does not mean it is already the truth and the converse is also true.

 

Anyhow, more than anything else, I think it is important to find the plane first than knowing what really happened. Many innocent people are waiting and more than knowing the real story, I am pretty sure they primarily want to know whether they can still see their relatives or not.

It needed to be turned off during taxiing, takeoff, and landing because it would be hectic if there are multiple transponders at an airport.
