In that case there is something that can be done.

 

 

If you have any commercial or industrial demand, zone more of that. If you have C or I demand, but things aren't growing, check to see what wealth there is demand for, and make sure you have areas of the appropriate desirability for each. When jobs are added, demand for residential increases.

 

 

If there isn't really demand for anything, you can try using ploppable commercial buildings instead to do something similar. First, save your city. Next, pick a big commercial building, like a skyscraper or something.

 

Plop it. You don't have demand to support so many new jobs, and it will abandon. But before it abandons, your city will have thousands of extra jobs, which will generate some residential demand. This will encourage some new residential construction. Then the skyscraper will abandon, and the "fake" residential demand will go away. But before that happens, some new residential will have been built, and you'll have more residential population than you did before you plopped the skyscraper.

 

You can do this over and over again. And once you get the hang of it, you'll get a sense of how many jobs you can plop (to get the "fake" residential demand) without just destabilizing your RCI. Destabilizing the RCI is the potential downside to this method which is why you should save beforehand.

I'm going off topic for a while, is that white building even ploppable, don't they just grow (if I am correct, they are default maxis content)? If so, what's the name of the building? Also what is the name of that blue glass building at the right with hexagonal rooftops?

It seems that the content of this pack is not very well understood.

The pack includes 6 or 7 different Maxis models on a total of 21 R§§§/ Stage 8 Lots that have been relotted with better/more props (that's why there are so many dependencies) It is not a mod, but new and different simple growable lots with Maxis Buildings.
