Completely locked out

I haven't played SimCity for more than two months and I figured I'd give it a try again but, of course, now I'm completely locked out. No matter what I do, I can't get Origin online. When I try to log into Origin directly I get a "Server Error", when I try to launch SimCity it tells me that it can't contact Origin, and I'm REALLY regretting spending my hard earned money for this idiocy. Can anyone help?

The game's been out for more than a year and they still haven't upgraded the servers to handle the traffic volume, in some ways the lag is worse than it used to be. My advice? Good that you regret it, because what it goves you is cartoonish graphics, limited sizes, always on DRM, and the need for a ridiculously powerful computer for 4x the price of Simcity 4. In fact, you can get most of it's features with SC4 mods! The "server error" is nothing on your end, it's servers so clogged up that the game would just b arely be playable with even half the number that currently play. My advice? If you're not willing to put up with these issues but still want Simcity, then SC4 is probably your only option.

Problems like that are exactly why I never bothered with 2013. And like what bluemonkey said, it's pretty much just their incapable servers. EA/Maxis really don't know how to handle their systems and should really just take down Origin altogether. Seriously. It's causing people more financial grief, than it is helpful. And piracy provoking DRM

But yeah, you should probably just go with SC4, there's hundreds, heck, thousands of mods for the game. It'd be 1000x better to play then SC2013.

The only thing I disagree with in this post is that the game hasn't been out for more than a year. It's been out for around eight months :)

Just an uninteresting person that plays video games for your falsified amusement.
