8/10 for the uplifting vibes

Love this one more for the video then the track, Rosemary Pike for the win :ohyes: Not often you get real acting in a music video.

Interesting, I didn't realize that they actually had artists in the genre over in Japan. The beat was pretty decent but something about the vocals felt a little off. Could of just been because of not understanding the language but it sounded like she was talking more than she was singing. Still a solid 7/10 from me.

I don't always listen to rock but when I do it's often something from Linkin Park;

5/10. I know rock + rap hits home with a lot of people, but I'm not one of them.

Here's a song that @airman15 tipped me off about. It's become one of my absolute favorites at this stage, so thanks for that! *

7/10 I love how "real" the music is, especially the percussion, and I know it's nothing to do with the music, but the cover art is fantastic! It's not my exact type of music, though.

Spoiler

I'd love to keep this thread going, may I bump this once?

10/10! It's a total feelgood song! Listening to this piece helps remedy those days that just aren't going right.

I'd love to keep it going too. Maybe we could get a two post rule dispensation for this one thread? I feel like a one post rule would let the two of us keep it alive.

10/10! Had my head bobbing furiously! I wish this was on Spotify.

This Talking Heads thing is probably a phase, so don't get worried.

So 80s-tastic!  It's not for me, so a personal score would be something like a 5 or so, but I feel compelled to give it an 8.

Now I'm posting this twice in one day: UNCHAIN's latest offering, Fresher!

6/10

Although I did start liking metal recently, it's not this kind of metal. Most of those points go to the drummer because I know how hard it is to be a metal drummer :P

Sticking with metal:

"Time is a valuable thing

Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings

Watch it count down to the end of the day

The clock ticks life away"

Linkin Park - In The End

3/10. There's a lot of skill in making this music, which I can acknowledge, but I do not like the sound of it in any way.

I tend to default to posting oldies but goodies from around the 70's, so I decided a song in my native tongue released in 2016 would be a nice change of pace.

8/10.
Nice pacing, if a bit of a soft tune. I once had a city named Andromeda! I kept zones separated on purpose to force my sims to take the monorail!

Dokken- Live to Rock (Rock to Live)

8/10: That was surprisingly good. A bit like a less screamy version of AC/DC but with solos from GNR :P I guess it might be from the same time as ACDC?

Be sure to listen to most of the track because there's a surprise at about 4:30, but it's better when you listen to the part before that a bit as well.

I liked it better before 4:30, to be honest. It sounded like something straight out of Kill Bill. Altogether I'll give it an 8/10, mostly thanks to the intro.

Iron Maiden is not my thing at all. 6/10 because of the guitar solo though.

Let's get some newer music in here:

I'm sure it could have been good if it wasn't for the damn voice. My biggest grudge with a lot of contemporary music is the trend of distorting voices to the point where they don't even sound human anymore. 6/10, because I do think the music itself was pretty nice.

6.5/10: Not my favourite Metallica song (I guess I mostly just like their hits stuff like Enter Sandman and One) but it's definitely not a bad song. As with a lot of metal, these people are really good musicians and have a lot of skill, but I just don't enjoy this song as much as some of their other stuff. The thing that puts me off most is the staccato singing in a big part of the song. Overall I think I would never put this on myself, but I wouldn't hate it if someone else did put it on.

Let's get one of my favoutite 90s rock classics in here:

9/10: I actually really liked this one! I think I'm gonna listen to this a lot more often. And nobody can deny how important the Stones have been for rock music.

Now again a modern song and I don't know if you're going to like this one, but I really like it because it has quite a lot of energy and emotion.

8/10

Quite interesting. Dubstep is not my thing (not sure if that's what you call it, my apologies if it's not), but I quite like the layers of guitars and sounds. It's tasty.

8/10. This album is a classic, but my favourite songs from this album are Ride The Sky, Victim of fate and Phantoms of death.

Not dubstep. It's mostly drum n bass but it has some influences from other genres. Calling it dubstep would be like calling Grunge Punk or something. They are kind of related, but pretty different genres.

Now for the Iron Maiden song: 7/10

I like the intro. The rest is okay, but I'm just not a fan of their style in general tbh. Not that I don't like metal, it's just that I listen more to faster more energetic sorts of metal instead of this really dramatic and kind of slow stuff if you know what I mean. After about 5:00 I like the song a bit more though. Especially because of the guitar solos because they're just really good.

Because of Chester's death I can't resist putting a Linkin Park song in here. It has always been one of my favourite LP songs but now it just hits extra hard. RIP Chester Bennington.
