I'm thinking about starting a Let's Play SimCity series, but I don't know which program I should use.

Any one have any good ones?

Overwolf and X-Fire also have built in video recorders, I do not use them though, I stay with my Fraps though(in my opinion it is the best quality), I also use Fraps' screenshot function as well since it is just one key press.

I use MSI afterburner and Dxtory for years both are excellent.

MSI afterburner only doesn't record the mouse but Dxtory does. Dxtory also has the x264 codec so your recordings can be top quality and also take very little space. But Dxtory records sound separately so after recording you have to use the inbuilt sound mix to mix the video and audio.

Both programs have A LOT more options than FRAPS and also MSI Afterburner is completely free.

You can use for the job Audials Movibox, for example. Its  can record and save streaming  video fast and in good quality:

    http://audials.com/en/moviebox/index.html

It’s able to convert saved videos to any format you need for your devices, that has always proven useful for me.
