Older NAM (June 2007)

I have a G5 Mac and want to run the 2007 version of the NAM on my machine.  Everything I run is an older version of something even though it's 2013.  So, I figure why not old NAM as the newest one isn't for Mac users (PPC nor Intel).  And, yes, I tried File Juicer.

First, where can I get it?  Next, does it include GLR support? I would like to try this in my city.  But, rail is not as crucial as having an older, working NAM is.

I only listed the June 2007 version one because that seemed popular then.  If anyone knows of a later version that works with a POWER PC G5 MAC running OSX 10.5.8, point me in the right direction.

As always, the "please-help-me" statement goes here.

TIA

First, we don't host older versions of the NAM because they're outdated, and second, we can't give any tech support for older versions. Once a new version comes along, the previous version is removed.

There's a thread on how to install the NAM on a Mac, and it uses a different program:

Version 31.2 is the current version, available here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/network-addon-mod/downloads/network-addon-mod-version-312

Your best option would be to install the current Windows version under Wine. If possible, another way is to dual-boot your system.

He is running a non-Intel based Mac.  Those cannot run Wine or dual-boot.  His only option is to find a virtual PC program that worked on the old PPC Mac's (the only one I know is Connectix Virtual PC) if he wants to instal .exe files.

    Divine Hand,

Thanks for explaining to them.   I used to have a version of Virtual PC but lost it in the move.  But, what you're saying is if install the latest NAM under VPC I can can then switch back to OSX once the installation is done, right?

    Also, Keka is Intel only.

    Microsoft bought Connectix.

    Thanks again, guys.

Maybe it is time for him to move to a newer machine.  Linux is always there for X86 users and those Motorola chips must be getting very tired.

    Thanks for clarifying that.

    Yes, that is correct.

Bear in mind that the NAM consists of many data files.  These affect only the game after it is loaded.  Think of it as an attached data base.  So unpacking it in any way possible will yield the correct results if you can find a way to run the installer to select the parts you need.

    Okay, got it!

And I just eBayed VPC for $25 including the OS.  Unheard of!

About the G5. I have it stuffed with 16 GB of RAM, Plus, it has dual processors.  It's a more than capable machine.

    Thanks again guys!
