There's no such thing, only Simtropolians and the benevolent Dirktatorship.

P.S. haven't experienced real democracy yet.

I never mentioned anything about democracy ;) Only the country that is Simtropolis, and the people that populate it (in other words: we).

(But I see you read our rules, that's a good example for other people :P )

Ah well, everything is unhealthy, if there is one thing that kills you, it is life.

The important thing is to be moderate with the filth.

It's getting a little crazy IMHO with all of these scientific studies on what's good and what isn't.

As someone who likes science and cake, I'm totally fine with a conversation about the scientific side of cake.

Got to eat the ice cream flavor "moose tracks" yesterday. Down at the shore (the beach is called the shore, it's a Philly thing) we needed it. It was so hot I almost passed out watching my little brother go on all th kiddie rides. I'd love to be down there now, but we're still recovering from Hurricane Sandy, and is so damn hot there.

Ice cream is one of the (very few) highlights of summer for me, in addition to snow cones.  Down here in Texas there are year-round snow cone shops, due to the warm climate.

Video games will always be cool. But as for graphics, games like Okami, Zelda: Wind Waker, and No More heroes (and sequels for all) are good because the "realistic" graphics will become outdated more easily. I'm a fan of all 3 above games, and the stylized graphics still look good. Wind Waker came out 10 years ago and still fit, Okami came out 5 years ago, and still fit, and I'm not sure when No More Heroes came out but it still looks good.

In my opinion, although it's nice to have a balance, gameplay is far more important than graphics. That's the downfall of many modern games -- they focus more on flashy 3D graphics, and the gameplay often lacks substance. In the past there were limitations in technology. This meant the gameplay had to be solid, and was the primary attraction.

Those limitations also kept games simple. As Kirby Krackle quipped, I remember controllers with less buttons than my TV remote.

Still, there are many other things that have changed about gaming that have kind of spoiled it for me.

    1) The industry has grown to be dominated by big companies, which have turned games from works of art and works of love into massively commercialized crap designed to maximize profit, not enjoyment.

    2) The obsession with making gaming social. Whatever happened to having to use the second controller to have two people play?

    3) The obsession with expansions, DLC, and having people pay real money for digital items in games.

    4) The obsession with downloads that prevent the user from having a hard copy of a game.

    5) The internalization of memory into consoles, so you lose your save game data if you lose your console.

And on and on and on.

Just compare Tiberian Sun (1999) with Tiberian Twilight (2010). Heaven and Hell!!

24 is my third favorite number. I'm very OCD about numbers. The other ones I like are 22 and 64

I don't do favourite numbers or colours or... I do have a weak spot, however, for palindrome numbers. Like the next number (although it is a bit short for a palindrome number).
