Does not really sway me though I'm still with the PS4/PC as the damage has been done but I'm a bit biased as I have a PS3 lol.

tbh I'm really surprised about this latest turn of events concerning the eggbock.

surprized cuz I don't know what to think about it.

did they really listen to the world and step back from this policy because of the audience's opinion or are they just utterly scared to lose the market-fight against their better-doing competitor sony?

As with all these companies rest assured that its not listening to fans that is their primary motive... Don't think for a second reversing these policies is because they listen to fans concerns. Its all down to money they saw the negative responses and the mass of customers threatening to run to Sony, so they did the only thing they could and reverse these ridiculous restrictions or face extinction and losing revenue. I don't doubt for a second they would keep the DRM restrictions and used games fees if they could in order to gain further income. But to do so would be suicide in the light of Sony's popularity regarding its approach to DRM...

 

In my opinion if Sony had followed the same path with DRM you can make a sure bet that despite the fans concerns we would be faced with enforced DRM on both consoles regardless of anyone's views.

first of all, yes they are.

because, second, the vast majority of gamers doesn't relate to nintendo anymore because it's off the mainstream-gaming-radar by design of the games and technology. not so much with the wii u as it was with the wii, but still enough.

third, the wii u has been released already so the technical aspects are known and not worth speculating / previewing which is happening in this thread.

and fourth, this thread concerns PS4 and Xbox One, so it's quite clear why nobody talks about the wii u... except of you.

I stopped buying Nintendo consoles after GameCube. That's when they started to be more about gimmicks than games, and I'm talking about way more than Wiimotes.

 

Back to the subject... Many seem to be cheering MS's decision to drop the DRM and support used games. They still haven't addressed the biggest problem, however, and that's the damned Kinect and its camera. 

 

I'm afraid that Xbox is moving in the Nintendo direction with the Kinect. Gimmicks. More gimmicks. I'm not interested in Kinect. Why is it mandatory? So MS can snoop or allow the government to snoop or the MPAA to snoop, of course, but still... I like what PS4 is. Here's your console. Here's your controller. Here's your game. That's it. Yes, I'll take that.

I'm going both ways, but I'm getting Xbox One first and it will probably be my primary console.
