SC4 crashes with NAM 31 - Please Help!

Hello,

 

I really need help with this.

 

I have bought a new laptop that comes with Windows 8 and Im trying to play SC4 with the new NAM 31.

 

Im not really sure if its the NAM, or my config settings that make the game CRASH just when im dragging a RHW or any other of the draggable roads.

 

My Computer specs are:

 

- AMD A10-4600M APU at 2.30 GHz

- Radeon HD 7660G

- 8Mb RAM

- Win 8 64 bit

 

Im running the .exe with: -d:Software -CustomResolution:enabled -r1366x768x32 -w -intro:off -CPUCount:1

 

First i thought it could be an incompatibility with an old plugin, so i removed all of them but the NAM with no luck.

At this point im not sure if the problem is the new NAM (v31.1) or my graphic card settings... What am i missing?!

This is the SimCity (2013) section of the forums.   :read:

 

Anyway, the crash log (BTW, you only ever need to post the first few lines of it) indicates that you don't have the official patches for the game.  You can get the main patch here and the night lighting patch here (second download on that page).

 

Other than that, I see you have Windows 8.  That might have to do with the problem; it might not.  Some people seem to get SC4 to run fine with it, others don't.

 

If you didn't have any problems until this NAM version, it could be a faulty install.  Meaning you should try uninstalling and reinstalling the NAM.

 

If all that fails, they have a patch that increases SC4's memory-usage capabilities; you should look into that.
