High wealth tourists and elegant casino

So I have, as some of you have watched in my videos, mastered the art of taking money from low and medium wealth tourists in my casinos.

 

What I have never done is having and maintaining a stream of high wealth tourists, I would have around 100-200 mid game and max 600 late game, but inevitably end up with 0 high wealth tourists in my gambling cities. I never built any elegant casinos because of the too few high wealth tourists to make a profit on it. 

 

Has anyone had positive experience with elegant casinos and high wealth tourists, and knows what he did to get them or to lose them?

Have you tried using the elegant casino in a region where the buildings are mostly $$$? I'm not sure but wouldn't having tons of C-$$$ encourage high wealth tourists as well or do you just play the lottery at the ferry/train/airport? I'm not sure how that works personally but maybe you could experiment around that concept? I personally have a similar experience to you in that I can get a reasonable amount of income from gambling but I never really unlock more then 1 upgrade to gambling HQ and stick with sleek casino.

I'm also curious,.. do you know if placing casinos near the university will be advantageous for the casino at all or do students not count as tourists?  Specifically the ones that commute in for classes

Each agent type is a unique sims, they don't change into other types.

I've made a successful $$$ casino city with three fancy shamcy's and only enough $$$ to fill the jobs (but none in the region).  

 

I would recommend grooming $$$ shopping and hotels out of your commercial and maybe using $$$ tourist attractions to bring more in.  Also the ferry and airport bring in $$$ tourists too with their addon's.

 

I don't exactly know what made mine successful other than taking my time and using any option available to bring more in.

Yes, well that is exactly the problem I have, besides building an elegant casino to bring in the $$$ tourists and having airports and cruise ships from them to come from there are not other ways of directly influencing then to come in larger numbers and stop my city from being invaded by low and medium wealth tourists.  

 

And since casino mods for attracting tourists simply don't work...
