Yes Yzerman is the GM in Tampa, so he is the one that put this team together that is playing in the finals, so yes he is skilled in his new role as well.

 

The NJ Devils won the Cup in 95' 00' 03' and lost in the 7th game in 01' and in the 6th game in 2012

 

I'm not a big baseball fan but if your a Pirates fan congrats on coming out of that decade black hole, Mike 'Doc' Emrick was the play by play guy for the Devils for years, he was a big Pirates fan and would always mention them here and there. I root for them to do something for him.

The only sports I've ever followed are baseball and (NFL) football, which is easily explained by the fact that those are the only two sports my father ever watched when I was younger. I was an adult the first time I ever attended an professional hockey game, and I have never attended a professional basketball game unless the Harlem Globetrotters count.

Even then, I've largely stopped following sports, period. It's baseball season and I have no idea how the Yankees are doing, nor do I care all that much. My mind is on other things.

@Duke, the usual story when it comes to sports fans, usually dad has an influence. In my family it's the mothers who influence their kids to be hockey fans. My two cousins(female) and I started the hockey fandom in our family. Over the years everyone grew to like it, even my grandmother, before she passed, and her sister would join the family in cheering them on, in fact that great aunt of mine has more jerseys than I do. My grandfather had what he said was little interest in hockey (he liked soccer) but he would always look up from his playing cards and yell out in Portuguese "If you hit me like that I'd hit you with the stick" My father likes cycling but learned about hockey from taking me to practice and games, he got good at reading players and would signal to me during the games things like which was the goalie's weak side, which defender was easier to go through or which forward to instigate that would easily take a penalty.

 

I also am too busy now a days to follow anything too closely. I am also like Wahrheit in that most of the other sports I never really followed but was aware enough to get by. My friend will start talking to me about Fantasy Football and I'll just shake my head and let him talk but have no real clue about the players, I just know about the game and the positions etc.

 

If this is like too much writing or something for the intention of this thread, please let me know I can cut back. I'm still new here so I don't want to be stepping on any toes or anything like that.

Bloody managers decided to close FM Brussel, the radio station where I'm working as an intern. These people have no idea at all what they're doing. What a way to end the last week of my internship. I'll be the last intern they ever had... I'm so sad and angry, because these people are destroying an amazing, unique radio station with incredibly talented radio makers. But no, 'it doesn't fit in their strategy'. These managers could use the same words to talk about a supermarket, a fastfood chain, a bank,... The lack of any sense of reality is mind-boggling.

If you absolutely had to take your car everywhere you could get it shipped to Hawaii, but that'd be expensive and it'd take a lot longer to get there than you would flying so you'd have to either do without it for sometime or take the freight ship yourself. No thanks to that.

It's definitely possible, though. I've spotted cars with Hawaii plates a few times. They got onto the continent somehow, eh?

 

As for the radio station drama, what, they just shut the station down and took it off the air? That seems rather odd to me unless they intend to broadcast something else over the same channel in the same area. If they don't intend to do something with that particular channel you'd think it'd make more sense to sell it and get some cash out of it...

@ing someone's name now allows you to link to their profile directly. As for why you'd want to post a link to someone's profile, well... that person may get a notification that you did it, depending on their settings (just like on Twitter, Facebook, etc.), so it increases the likelihood that they will read your post.

I believe by default you will be notified when someone mentions you. You can mess with the settings here.
