    Thanks for the compliments 10.gif.

I have another town I will show you here, which is called Bay Cove. Bay Cove is just south of North Beach, and not too far away from Ocean Point. The posh resort of Oceanside borders it to the east. I-268 goes N/S through town, as does Route 71 along the bay, and Route 82, the route to the shore, goes E/W through Bay Cove. Route 28, Beach Boulevard, clips southeastern Bay Cove as this area is near the ocean. There is a decent amont of industry in Bay Cove, a large landfill, some commercial businesses, and a residential population of around 11,000.

A close-up of a nice neighborhood on the north bay side of Bay Cove, just a short drive from the built-up town of North Beach. The avenue to the right of the neighborhood is the Ocean Point/ North Beach Parkway, which is one of the oldest roads on the island. However, the road only gets some local use because I-268 is the preferred route to travel from Ocean Point to North Beach or any of the other towns in between, including Bay Cove.

    Thanks DC.

I have the regional views to show.

    Regional satellite view:
    reg1.jpg

    Transportation view, edited in MSPaint:
    transpo.jpg

There are five towns I haven't showed yet, listed here:

    East Bayville
    South Baytown
    East Point
    Pinewood
    Pinewood Banks

I'll probably cover those towns, which are all small and not extremely important, in the next couple of updates 10.gif.

    Nice!44.gif What's the region population?

Thanks. The regional population is around 195,400.

I have some plans in store. In some of my next updates, I'm going to give an update for each interstate highway, which I think will really be interesting. It will include an exit system, pictures from each town it goes through, and some background history as well 10.gif.

I'll have an update soon, once the site becomes more stable. But for now, I can't risk losing 15 minutes of update work 10.gif.

Looking good so far! Question: why is it that you use only roads in your suburbs, not streets? The only reason I can think of is that it's not possible to build diagonal streets (which is pretty annoying I think)
Anyway: keep up the good job! 44.gif

Thanks. Well, actually, those towns aren't really suburbs, they're actually separate towns but do have some suburban sprawl. As for the road thing, I don't bother with streets because (In no particualar order) first of all, they have less capacity/ speed limits, second of all, they don't look all that nice, fourth, they don't show up in the regional transportation map, and fifth, what you said, you can't build diagonal streets 10.gif.

And now for an update. I have some pictures of Baytown (Pop. 20,107) to show. First, an overview:baytown.jpg

    Downtown w/road names:dtbaytown.jpg

This is the Baytown exit of I-68. The road of the exit is Great Bend Road. This is a sampling of what I'll be doing in the highway updates:baytownexit.jpg

I also made a rough map of Baytown using MSPaint and PhotoPlus (An image editing program). It's accurate, but not that great looking, I will admit 10.gif.

    Thanks subedei.

I have a few updated pictures of Ocean Point (Pop. 52,287) to show. The town has grown quite a bit concerning the downtown area since I last showed you pictures of it. First, a picture of the main part of town on the island:
    islandoverview.jpg

The mainland west of the island:
    mainlandoverview.jpg

And a downtown close-up (May be slightly outdated, but it's very recent):
    dt2.jpg

I also have the populations of each town in the region, in order from largest to smallest:

    Ocean Point (52,287)
    North Beach (30,684)
    Bayside (20,374)
    Baytown (20,107)
    Oceanside (15,317)
    Bay Cove (11,714)
    Pinewood Banks (10,222)
    South Inlet (9,908)
    South Baytown (5,853)
    East Point (5,719)
    Marshland (5,296)
    Great Bend (3,675)
    Seaside Point (3,562)
    Pinewood (2,287)
    East Bayville (1,127)

I'll provide some close-ups of Ocean Point in my next update.

Thanks for the compliments. Sorry spy, but I don't know what you mean in your question, if you could reword please? 10.gif

I have the updated regional pictures to show. I'm doing them differently, because I think it looks better when I manually write the town names in MSPaint instead of having them show in the region view with city names and boundaries.
    reg.jpg

And the Transportation Map, which I think is a lot cleaner than my usual MSPaint edited Transportation Map. I only added the interstate signs, and I put in the names of some of the larger towns instead of all of them like in the normal regional view.

    Thanks for the compliments.

I have some close-ups of Ocean Point intersections to show. Not just normal intersections, but highway intersections and main transportation networks. First, the T-Intersection of I-268 and I-31 on the island:
    31268intersection.jpg

Next, the I-268/ Route 28 junction in the South Point district, southwest of downtown on the island:
    26828junction.jpg

And the I-268/ I-68 T-Intersection on the mainland, south of the Pinewood River:
    26868intersection.jpg

Next, I'll show you close-ups of the Ocean Point bridges.

I think you're asking why the region isn't a perfect rectangle and there are jagged edges (For example: South of Ocean Point there is no city tile). If that's what you're asking, then the way I got rid of the tile is by simply editing the config.bmp file. I didn't include another city tile there because there is no land there, so it would really be just a waste of space 10.gif.

    Thanks for the compliments 10.gif.

I've got the pictures of Ocean Point's bridges to show like I said. There are three bridges in Ocean Point: One across the Pinewood River (The Route 19 Bridge), one across the Marshland Bay (The I-31 Bridge), and one across the inlet where the river and bay empty into the ocean (The I-268/ Route 28 Bridge, known as the Inlet Bridge).

Here is the Route 19 Bridge over the Pinewood River, in the western part of Ocean Point:
    19bridge.jpg

Next is the I-31 Bridge over the Marshland Bay. There used to be an old avenue bridge here before I-31 came through, called the Marshland Bridge, but that structure was demolished so the I-31 Bridge could be built in its place.
    31bridge.jpg

And here is the I-268/ Route 28 Bridge, known as the Inlet Bridge. The Inlet Bridge is clearly the longest in Ocean Point. It crosses the rough waters of the Inlet to the mainland south of the Pinewood River.
    inletbridge.jpg

While I'm showing you these bridges, I plan to also show you the other bridges in the region.

I have a small update. Baytown, now the third largest town in the region, has been developing quite nicely. It's population is over 21,000. Take a look at this updated downtown picture:

I've got another update here of a couple of the data views from Ocean Point. They are the traffic map and the zones map of town.

Here is the traffic (Or lack therof) map. Yeah, there isn't much traffic here except on a couple of roads. You can see my weird way of laying out roads 10.gif.
    traffic.jpg

And the zones map. Most of the commercial in the city is in downtown, where it is actually dense commercial zoning. As for industrial, most of it is along the Pinewood River or the bay coast. Residential is clearly the most common zone in Ocean Point, however almost all of it is light density except for downtown, where it is medium density.
