Corrupted regions? Is that possible?

I was playing yesterday and one of my cities in the region decided to rollback(?) for whatever reason and I was kicked out of the city losing that progress. I quit for that time then came back to it several hours later. However trying to load the city the game just stays at the loading screen. I gave up on that city but now I can seem to load any other of the 3 cities I made within that region. Has anyone else had this problem to this extent?

I actually had a city rollback losing progress and started building again. An hour later it rolled back again to where I was before it rolled back to where it originally was before it rolled the first time. I hate always online.

Well I figured out my problem. It was not too difficult. Since the city that rolled back was the last city I played - upon loading up Simcity itself it actually made the game not function if you choose to resume the last city played. Instead of resuming  your last city just go into the region and select a different city. You should abandon the corrupted city as it serves no purpose and causes more problems. Trying to load the corrupted city from within the region will just crash the game. Probably not an end-all solution but it worked for me.

I just logged on to post the exact same bug -

    1) Get kicked out of city and returned to start screen

    2) Click resume to return to city

    3) City has reverted to several sim-days earlier

    4) Leave city and return again to see if it has updated/synced (this worked once before with a different city)

    5) Get the "Unable to load..." message, try again

    6) Game sticks on the load screen.

Other towns work fine as you say, gutted to lose this particular one.

Did abandoning and reclaiming work it was the issue still there? Feels like a new bug so we might see a few regions with these soon

Unfortunately that does not work. 'Abandon' is not the same as 'delete' which is what I would rather have (not in the game for some strange reason). I don't mind deleting and starting over a city. I do not however would not like to delete a region just for one city not working. There was a temporary fix for this problem in some post long ago but the same problem would eventually resurface the next time you log into the game. My question is why am I not able to delete a city? Is that a bug as well? As of this post I have almost given up on Simcity for the time being until something good happens (don't laugh). I know the patch is coming sometime this year.

Since launch, I have been concentrating on two regions to work in - Cape Trinity and Whitewater Valley.  I've never had any problems with rollbacks, etc.  Considered myself lucky.

Recently, however, I discovered Viridian Woods, lured by two completely flat areas.  Now the rollbacks and server trouble are slamming me repeatedly.  I'm wondering if it's because so many people are using these or if the regions are flawed in the first place.

A friend of mine had the same problem with 2 of his cities in a region that we are playing.  Was in discussions with tech support from EA for a few days, and they claim to have fixed the problem.

However, ever since they "fixed" the cities, they do not sync with the server anymore.  When he plays the region, he has 250k Sims in the city, with the city fully populated and high density.

When I visit the same city, there are 26k Sims in the city, with only about 1/3 of the map populated.

He's also tried to start a great work from that city, and it's never been able to get started.

    fun stuff.

Has happened to me twice in the last three days, was playing Viridian Woods.  This one was Lancaster Pointe, only had 11,000 residents and was trying to sell all my saved up resources to unlock the top level petroleum HQ upgrade when it crashed.

I've been stuck at a loading screen for the time for me to google this post, register on the website, write this....

Same problem here, actually it's happened 3 times now. One it just flipped back to the menu screen and my city had completely gone. The 2nd and 3rd tries were other cities, both would just sit on the loading screen forever.

Really annoyed and have just given up on this game now.
