  1. Sandbox mode mayors mansion

shouldn't need a town hall. everything should be unlocked from the get go.
  2. Yea I've had that in a few cities although I'm not exactly sure why. UNI or school has always been in a place where it was easy to get, no traffic issues. Will be just humming along. Then I'll exit game and come back later and no one will go to school! Not sure if its related or just some more magic math on the part of the game but ill check region view where two other cities of mine also have a university and they're sending me 10,000 students a piece even though there are not 10,000 students in the whole region. I noticed this before 3.0 so not sure. Also I started making sure I didn't exit a game before the end of the school day. May not be at all related but haven't had that problem in a week now.
  3. I like the hot dog stand called Wet Willie's.
  4. How is tax collected?

Yea I don't know if the 3 minute rule still works Rufus. Seems like they may have caught on to that one. Don't hold me to that though. Personally I will zone a bunch of low wealth and then periodically jack the taxes to 20%. For a couple of game days at a time. You'll lose some sims but they'll be back. They always come back!!
  5. Patch 3.0 released

Well don't understand the reasoning for the tree fix? But fingers crossed they at least fix some traffic issues. Lol!!
  6. update today

Was it 2.1? If so that was a patch that fixed city processing issues.
  7. Pollution ain't that bad - is it?

Thanks for the help. Will try tonite and cut industrial and replace those jobs with commercial. Thanks for all the help.
  8. Pollution ain't that bad - is it?

That's an interesting take on pollution. That c That's an interesting take on pollution. That city I posted a pic from has been running for about 4 game years and like I said its the only city in the region. So I'm not sure what I'm missing. Maybe I'll have to play a little longer. I do have to plant trees about twice a game day. I've been able to keep deaths at zero with a hospital and a clinic but I'm still getting heavy pollution. I have a university and a well educated population. So if you can think of something I should do different I'm up for suggestions at this point. Good video by the way.
  9. Pollution ain't that bad - is it?

There was a small update earlier today but that was for cities not processing properly.
  10. Pollution ain't that bad - is it?

just had this happen. lol....thought i would share for you lucky ones out there with no pollution problems post 2.0. This is a sandbox game only city in the region. afraid to play my other cities forgot to mention, those are hi-tech buildings.
  11. Yea sorry, I agree they maybe hard at wor to fix these issues and I'm not debating the fact that the issues maybe complicated but on the other hand this could have been better avoided by better play testing. Or they should have delayed release or they should have had a better beta. Some I these core mechanics have been broken probably since they were made. I especially don't like that when they release a patch they make the game even more unplayable then it was. Now instead if tricking traffic I have huge pollution problems to deal with? What's next?
  12. I stopped when 2.0 came out. I actually haven't played even though I downloaded the update. After reading the issues with this update I've just had enough. I shouldn't have to trick mechanics into doing what they should be doing. Kind of defeats the purpose. I was having problems with pollution in non industrial low pop. Cities before the update and now from what I gather its worse for some people. Still think this game could be great if the revs would get their heads out of their butts and actually test something before they dump useless updates on us.
  13. $510 PC BUILD

No that is a decent build. You'll be satisfied. I chose expandibility. I didn't buy too end everything but I also got some great deals with everything. And I hate to say it but this year again is when hardware limits will be raised. Especially as new console hardware comes out. There are already some pretty taxing games. Not the ones everyone is listing like borderland 2 and skyrim which have come out some time ago or are completely optimized for a broad range of hardware. But nice job to the op. my main point wa there are some pretty good deals out there for every price range.
  14. 2.0 pollution problem?

Yea that's just great. I haven't played since update but I did have a city with no industry and only roughly a 140k low mid and high pop. Clean power and sewage. And people were complaining of air pollution so I watched data view and in the middle of the map at random times I would get a really dark cloud of heavy pollution. Was hoping this would be fixed. Traffic is low because I have to trick traffic into flowing a certain way because they are not smart enough to use alternate routes. I know this has been said many times before but I'm starting to feel cheated.
  15. $510 PC BUILD

I'm sorry if you posted this already but is this a barebones kit? And where are you looking at buying it? The stuff you have listed will run some games but not very well. My advice if you are planning on gaming with it plan for expandibility. I built a new rig a week before this as well as a buddy. He bought from new egg and I bought from tiger direct. Mine is a full tower gaming rig with tons of expandibility and his is a mid with quite a bit too. I spent 800 and he spent 700 You don't want to spend 500 bucks and in a couple months have to spend a few hundred just to get up to par
