I was referring to CIM2. They have overground metro tracks in the map editor, but no stations for overground tracks.

Ah, I haven't looked at the map editor yet. Within the game, the stations for underground and overground are the same, and the way they are done, there's no need for different stations.

I mean, look at these overground stations (click on images for larger versions):

It's the same "teleporter" setup as with underground stations.

I see. I remember in the map editor only seeing those boxes like you access underground stations from and no platform structures

That's the way you place stations, no matter whether they are above or below ground. You basically choose the place of the directional platform "teleporter" box on the track, and the game will then generate a platform around your "teleporter", plus a corresponding second "teleporter" box on the closest road shoulder. I think you can see that best on the first image.

Quite. Smart platform placement.

It really is a pity that

1. They have limited railroad usage

and 2. They have made a transport game and not a city building game.

I think if CO were to attempt a real SC5 it may well be a contender for a worthy holder of that title. Their glass box is superior and despite superior graphics the game lags less. The map size is fine with me and if the terrain editor allowed the importation of gray scales (I searched everywhere but couldn't find anything to suggest it can do this, correct me again if I missed this)...

I'm afraid you are completely correct. I have seen no mention of the ability to render a map from gray scale images, which is a pity.

Unfortunately, also the city building aspect is a bit haphazard. The way the game rebuilds your cities according to the choice of transport is a bit frustrating. I tend to lose my shopping centers and schools, and I haven't found out how to keep them. I have lots of opera houses in my city, though. And I mean lots...

Just wanted to inform everyone that patch 1.2.1 for CiM2 is out. The update adds a scenario editor, ruleset editor, Steam Workshop support, and plenty of bug fixes.

To boldly build where no one has built before.

Oh wow, that means it'll be easy for players to exchange/install maps and mods through Steam.

Exchange websites also do the trick.

Anyone here know about the forum rules over at Paradox? I joined but cannot post over there which don't make any sense to me. At the bottom of the page it says I do not have permission because I don't own the game but the forum rules do not mention this condition. I tried contacting staff but I do not use outlook. Why let anyone join a community if they can't even make a post? If having a purchase order is required, then it should of been included in the registration process.

In case anyone from CO is reading this, I wanted to chime in on the discussion about modding support. The lack of modding support is the only thing holding me back from buying this game.

It's a strange system. You can only post if you register a game to add the topics to your profile, least that's what I found.

Is it just me or is the terrain generator completely broken in a way even Sonic '06 is laughing at? 1-5just selects a different filter and all except Voronoi just flatten the land no matter what...
