Simcity crashing

As I've been playing a region on my own I have discovered that after the latest update of simcity the game is randomly crashing. I'm pretty sure this is not my pc but here are my specs anyway:

4.4GHz AMD FX 4170 QUAD CORE BULLDOZER CPU, 2GB ATI RADEON HD 6670 Graphics Card HDMI, 1TB HDD Hard Drive, 8GB DDR3 RAM

Is this happening for anybody else?

Yes it happens to me...

I say it's the Twitch.Tv thing...transmitting high quality data is bad for the game...

If it's not that, then turn down all the graphics and sound quality. First just the game, turn things down, then your whole computer if it is still happening...

    Same here.

10 minutes after update, game crashes. "Alright, let's restart."

5 minutes later, game crashes again! "What... I don't even... wha?"

Same story for the past 10 attempts! I have given up. Waiting for hotfix.

Seriously, WTF???? Never had this kind of problem before the update. And oh, every time it crashes, it leaves a looping sound effect that's a millisecond in duration. Annoying as hell so I'm forced to reboot my rig every time to rid of it.

    Well, back to normal life.

I have the same problem since the update. It was never happening before. Now when I get a nice city going the game starts crashing. I have tried turning down the game resolution and that made it work for like 5 mins.

But like I said, it only started happening after the big update.

Running quad core with 8gb RAM and 512mb geforce something.

I also have run into this problem since the update. It is fairly irritating...

I managed to crash it in sandbox mode by making around 30+ buildings and zoning 70% of the map right after claiming a new plot. It would crash every time I loaded that city.

First I tried just turning off all the buildings but it still crashed. Then I bulldozed about 15 buildings and added them slowly over a period of 10 minutes. Haven't had a crash since.

Just to update; I'm still experiencing the problem even after starting new regions/cities. I think I won't be playing for a while until the next update rolls in.

Its been crashing a hell of a lot more than it used to although i noticed after another update just yesterday it is not as bad but also noticed on the test server the resources showing up with different values than what they used to

they must be playing with the global trade i think

My buddy was having the exact same issues. He just bought a brand new computer along with Simcity about two weeks ago and it was crashing constantly. I suggested he try updating his drivers, which he did, and he hasn't had any issues since. I'm not saying this will fix everyone's problems, but at least check to see how current your drivers are, especially for your video card.

The other thing you could try, which I did pre-2.0 update when I was having issues with the game crashing, is try a different server. I found North America West 1 & 2 to be very unstable, so I switched to North America East 1, and I haven't had any crashes or any lost cities. If it was server problems for me, they could be fixed by now, so for some of you it might not fix any of your issues. But it's at least worth trying.

I found that this issue occurs on my computer as well. It begins after one of my cities begin gifting to another city. I am going to examine the issue further, but I think the gifting triggers the freeze.

I have one specific city the game crashes on but not crashed on any others. Check for updated drivers for your chipset and graphics card... that can make a big difference.

    dual core E6600 @ stock 2.4GHz, 4GB DDR2-800, 1GB GTX550Ti, 128GB SSD, Win7 Home Prem 64bit

All graphics setting on its highest and game plays smoothly for hours on end

Since Update 5 I have been unable to load SimCity. I received the update and it asked for me to Restart my client. I did and it never popped up. I checked my processes and sure enough it starts and closes without ever giving me a reason.

I have been playing this on my HP Dv7 Laptop that has a i7 processor with 6gb of RAM.

Any help would be awesome. I reached out on twitter to @simcity and I just get ignored.
