Just to update; I'm still experiencing the problem even after starting new regions/cities. I think I won't be playing for a while until the next update rolls in.

Same here. 10 minutes after update, game crashes. "Alright, let's restart." 5 minutes later, game crashes again! "What... I don't even... wha?" Same story for the past 10 attempts! I have given up. Waiting for hotfix. Seriously, WTF???? Never had this kind of problem before the update. And oh, every time it crashes, it leaves a looping sound effect that's a millisecond in duration. Annoying as hell so I'm forced to reboot my rig every time to rid of it. Well, back to normal life.

This is more of a showcase than a Journal. I will do the latter in another time. I experimented a bit and created a grand boulevard that leads to the center of the city where City Hall rests (not on sandbox mode, btw). Shown below is an avenue with paths/parks situated along its edge. On both sides of the park sits lower density roads to accommodate low density business... and beside those are high density roads for bigger business and residential properties to develop. I found it eases tourist traffic more than just the single avenue entry. More pics will follow later today as I am off to work. Thank you for the reply. I havent check my settings after recently updating the game (EP1) to bring night lights to the custom BATs (not actually done with the process but i did install the update). But, as for the time cycle - there are other fountains working on my city right now, i tired placing new ones beside those working ones, and yes, still no animation.

Ok, this is weird... i took every single plug-ins out of the plug-in folder and started the game. I chose a medium fountain park, placed the lost, but then - its still the same! No water comes out =[ ...i also tried another city and its the same situation, no water from the fountain, no trees from the park =[ Question - so installer files doesn't necessarily need to be in the plug-in folder to work? Because i thought i was suppose to put them there... well i guess it doesnt matter since they all work anyways and i guess its the best place to store them, its all good... unless they interrupt in anyway? So, im thinking... maybe its one of the installer files the causing the missing animations? How can I un-install those? just delete the folder? Regards

Salut! Great journal Hanson, im pretty new to the game (2 weeks!) and it's quite amazing how dedicated some people are at making the most accurate recreations of cities in real life! New York is a tough task, but i can only imagine the nightmare of recreating Boston's twisty roadways! Anyway, I just went through the whole thread, and i was just wondering, where can i get access to download all your BATs? Also, it seems that the thread is not as active as before but is it possible you can give us an updated regional shot of NYC? Again, awesome job! Ummm, no sir. I think it has something to do with one file.. i just can't pinpoint since my plug-in folder is almost 500mb! Other parks still has animations and trees, these are the ones i built before i installed/plugged in this mystery file. I have no way to backtrack. All my DL's stays in one folder, and i dont think theres a way to tell the time i retracted the zipped files. As far as i can remember, i plugged in a few dependencies that were missing, a number of school buildings (fire also), a few small shops, and a couple of commercial buildings... i did a number of installs but i can't remember what they are =[ Could it be textures? i plugged a texture pack from the most popular files on STEX... 'Cerulean Textures V101' P.S. @ Baptist - Thanks for the link! However, i can't download BAT! I have my product registered but im lost to which email i used and totally forgot the password and screename! (didnt care about the site since there is simtropolis!). Do you have any alternative links? P.S.S. I can't believe i missed out on this great game! It's 6 years old and its still very popular! Cities XL looks good, but i heard theres no zoning there. And no tools to build custom buildings?

This is like my own personal question box lol... what a newb... *sigh* Well, i guess ill drop in another question xD After installing a few more plugins, i noticed that whenever i buy and build parks, there's no animations like the water fountains. Other examples: 'small park' and 'medium park' is missing its trees and benches (props) What's wrong? Anyway, i obliterated the big city and ive been building a new one. Same size. This is the one where it crashed on me! About 2-3 hours of infrastructure work was lost! It's still a bit scattered. The reward building are all in the middle there (Will be relocated) Same problem with demand again, CO$$ and CO$$$ both negative. Here's my progress so far:

Wait, i should rephrase my question (again lol). Actually, how can i take a screen shot while the Census Repository is on display? Print Screen? Also, a few more newbie questions for everyone out there. Does NAM (latest version) make the game crash? I was 1 hour in on a session and was building railways over roads when the game suddenly crashes! Progress lost... What can i do with those brown boxes? And why do they appear? Why do custom buildings don't light up at night? Thanks in Advance!
