Regional Freeway possible with oppie's mod tool

Using oppie's mod tool and simple tutorial, I was able to add regional freeways to the road menu. Seems to work as far as I can tell. Can't seem to upload a 7z file, so unable to share. But for those interested, it is possible and takes about 10 minutes using the tutorial.

 

Nice work oppie. Thank you. Although I'm not playing Simcity at the moment due to current suck ass bugs, it's still nice to see modders making more progress than the developers (well, not really, I'd like a working game I paid money for, but alas). Keep it up.

Try using something like rapidshare or just upload the .package file directly. That seems to work =)

    See if this works. Just remember regional freeways are probably not possible to delete right now. And who knows how EA/Maxis will react to this, but F em.

     

    They blocked the debug mod last patches. Not much they can do about this though unless they remove it from the core package completely.

    Great to see that the tutorial was useful! Keep on experimenting, there's lots of stuff to be discovered in those packages...

     

    One warning to go with the regional highway though is that currently there's no way to bulldoze it. So if you use it, there's no way to undo mistakes - so be careful!

    Hey ST, been a while since posting here, this game and Maxis makes me so mad that I had to finally say something about a broken $60.00 game that is halfway being fixed.Thank you so much rejooh and oppie, excellent job. I have tried it and it works like a charm.

    However, be warned as Oppie stated, you can not delete the freeway road, but it does work on giving your city more freeway exits so the bottleneck traffic gridlock does not occur like it used to.

    Also be advised that you cannot place any building, or RCI on any freeway road because there are no snap points. Freeway Roads also do not carry power, sewage, or water as illustrated below.

    Hey Everyone

     

    Saw this mod in use on a video on YouTube and it shocks me that such a simple tool was not incuded in the game itself. The ability to add multiple Entry/Exit points to your city seems like such a logical tool to have. With a bit of thought I am sure Maxis could have added this to the game...I am sure they still can.

     

    Unfortunately due to PC restrictions I am unable to play the new SimCity at the moment, but as soon as I upgrade my PC I look forward to playing it.

    Can you still build RCI off of them? If so does it provide certain density?

    Nope, the game server doesn't recognize them as being connected and therefore doesn't simulate anything between them.

    I'm skeptical about downloading this (for reason not explainable), but is it possible to create highways connecting the groups of 4 cities to one another, making the entire region connected by road as well as boat and plane.
