No random Disasters

So i have been playing for several days now and have built several cities and i have been shocked to not have a single random disaster i have actually unlocked several but not actually had a random one i even built an industrial city with the sole purpose of trying to cause an earthquake and nothing i had 2 coal mine and 3 ore mines and 3 oil mining sites and didnt even get a slight murma of an earthquake so i was wondering why i haven't had one.

I've had two Godzilla's, an earthquake and an alien invasion so far.  One of the Godzilla's did TONS of damage.

I had an alien invasion in my third city.

I get them constantly, it's pissing me off.

One city I have, has had 4 Lizard attacks, 3 meteor showers and 3 alien abductions.

The lizard is cool only the first time, then it gets annoying when you have to bulldoze and replace a bunch of stuff.

We need the option to disable this crap in regular mode, or else I'm going to have to play sandbox, it's ridiculous.

i would take some of your disaster i did a test i had a city tht was running well in profit and left it for 16 hours not a single disaster occured in that time but i did have lots of money by the end of it

A neighbor city had a tornado rip down the middle of it.. I personally only have witnessed two UFO attacks. Nothing else yet out of like five cities.

Reason why I only play sandbox.. No thanks for random disasters, it's stupid.

I've experienced all of the random disasters. Their unpredictable nature has actually forced me to plan ahead and have some emergency savings instead of playing a "paycheck to paycheck " style.

Zombies, so many zombies.  Well actually only a couple of times but they've wiped out large sections of the population so half my city became abandoned due to their brains being eaten. 

One Godzilla which was a new city so it didn't do too much damage and one mining related earthquake right after I plopped down my first extra coal shaft that the game gently suggested add.  Yup great idea game, thanks for that.  XD 

 

The disasters haven't been too frequent though thankfully.  I was a bit worried that it would be overly annoying if it was every hour or so.

I have a bankroll in my city of $40 million so thankfully it's easy for me to replace... the very 1st time I got the disasters was kinda cool,but 3- 4 times per year is downright stupid.

Once and done is all they should be, for the achievement.

should have an option to switch it off, its already quite a challenge to build up the city without having the reds and now this..... I have already abandoned 2 cities thanks to this

They aren't that bad IMO. I've had cities bombed by meteors before, and both times the meteors destroyed critical city services and caused fires that burned down probably at least a dozen apartment buildings. I just sent out the fire brigades and medics, cleaned up the damage, and started restoring services as fast as I could. It seems like they always come just as my city is hitting its stride, which adds some interesting challenges other than simply making tons of money.

Heh. I've only had an earthquake and a couple of alien attacks. They were pretty frightening though because they occurred immediately after I had plopped my municipal airport after saving up enough money to do so. The earthquake occurred on the complete opposite side of the city where all the trailer parks are, but one of the aliens decided to immediately hover over the airport. It was pretty scary, but it didn't shoot any lasers at it fortunately.

 

That said, disasters haven't bugged me so much, but I don't think I've had to experience the worst ones yet.
