A question about prisons

I have a city just for dealing with the regions waste and I was thinking about putting a prison here. If I do this will this count as a prison throughout the region to help keep crime down.

Why of course no. Each city has to build their own prison. Crime in one city will not affect the neighboring cities, so you have to deal with crimes in each city you have. But if you build enough police stations and your sims are well educated, that will lower the need of prison in one city.

Of course if you have a city with no R you have no crime!!!!

Check the number of inmates in your police stations. If they are below capacity, you don't need a prison.

Yup. Most of the time when an adviser asks for a jail, I just build another police station and check my education graphs. I hardly use jails.

I do like getting the federal prison. You get simoleans and can lock your hoodlums up at rthr same time. When I do build a prison I always put it near the power plant and landfill!!!

are there any links to where I can download a plugin to a custom or realistic prison or pentitenary?  The ones on the default game are just small and dont look all that realistic.  You can custom build an airport, seaport, malls, military bases, water parks...what about jails??
