I've also seen ads for "local singles" and those "bad idea" t-shirts (which can be kind of skimpy).

It is a little weird seeing these on the site, but they have to pay for all this somehow.

This is the first one I've seen promising an orgy :)

But I have been seeing a wider diversity of ads lately, which I assume is bringing in some $$$ - so that 's a good thing.

It's pretty questionable, actually. Oh well.

Where are you seeing these? I have not seen them.

It is possible you have adware that has taken over our nice Sim City ads.

I would be willing to bet many of these ads are catered directly to the end user and not the Simtropolis community as a whole. I see many of the same ads on this site on other sites as well. Different people see different things.

Generally this type of advertising "tracks," for lack of a better word, your web activity and then caters the ads to you based on that previous activity. That's probably what a lot of you are seeing here.

Not that I'm implying anything, SimCoug. :)

In fact there's nothing to be implied. SimCoug could have been looking lately for information for a trip to Rome, for example, or Halen of Dania may have been looking for Asian K-Pop videos lately. I'm tired of watching ads of snowboarding boots and SKF mechanical bearings (I needed to use some for a mechanical project). They all depend on what you type on Google and its associate sites.

Well, well. Seems I don't see any of this stuff. Linux pays off again.

Actually, almost every ad I see is video game related, and perhaps the ad in question is too - although I don't play any MMO type games so I can't say for sure...

I understand 'tracking' but It seemed to me that Simtrop ads were fairly unique to this site. Whereas, news sites are much more diverse in ad content.

I see three ads:  The Settlers Online, the SC4 DVD, and Cities XL.   and I google lots of things.

I really think you guys have adware that has attached itself.  It has happened before.

I usually just see the CD ads, those games are not really MMO's, they are usually medieval online city builders with misleading ads :P

You might want to clear the browser cache if you haven't done so.  About 10 minutes ago, everything was running fine, then the site stopped rendering properly.  I flushed the browser cache and some ads I hadn't seen before popped up, along with site glitches that hadn't been there before.  Another cache flush and everything was back to normal again.

Same case here, the adds that I see are only text. Adblock disabled only for ST.
