Afternoon guys and happy Friday!!!...

I'm looking into buying a new laptop and torn between a few options and need some advice! My biggest criteria is being able to play SimCity5 like a dream but also need a desktop replacement for work so needs to be a PC. I've been looking at:

    Dell XPS 15 http://www.dell.com/uk/p/xps-15-l521x/pd (the £1179 config)

    Samsung Series 7 Chronos http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/pc-peripherals/notebook-computers/high-performance/NP700Z5C-S03UK

Im leaning towards the Dell but wanted to check if im missing anything?

    Thank you!!!

(apologise if I have placed this in the wrong part of the forum, I thought as SimCity5 is my main aim this would be the best place?)

The second one would probably be better since it actually specifies it has a GDDR5 graphics card whereas the Dell doesn't, so chances are the Dell has the slower graphics card. Also the Samsung has a better processor in it.

I'd go for the Samsung. All the reviews are very good. The lower resolution screen on the Samsung may actually be beneficial because with relatively low graphics hardware, every pixel counts (in a bad way). At these sizes however, you won't notice a significant difference in detail.

The Samsung is also £300 or so cheaper:

To be honest, there doesn't seem to be a major difference between the two. Both would be more than capable of running the new SimCity. So you couldn't really go wrong either way.

But personally, I'd agree with the consensus and go for the Samsung. I've heard good things about the Chronos series. As well as being a good desktop replacement, they are also quite lightweight and portable.
