I'm not eating anything at the moment, but I'm drinking coffee.  Coffee works well with SC4 and SC4-related sites, IMHO. :)

Glass of milk and a chocolate vanilla dip doughnut I bought from Tim Hortons this morning when I grabbed my breakfast.

On a side note: my large double-double yielded me a free coffee. So I am now 2 for 8 on roll up the rim so far. :D

For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

Large glass of milk with my morning medications.  Haven't decided on breakfast, but it will probably be a banana.

Took some blueberries and a couple of strawberries out of the freezer and just polished those off for a mid morning snack since breakfast was hours ago. yummy.

I guess it could be worse but that sure is a lot of sugar for a diabetic don't you think? Both are high in sugars. Fiber would help, maybe some Shredded Wheat or such. :)

Actually, my sugar test this morning was 8.2 which is low for me.  My mean value is around 9.3.  On the average I've been dropping a little.  The thing about type 2 diabetes with a diet control regimen is that your sugar varies all over the place, but not out of control.  I think insulin would really screw things up because it is so hard to get good control with it.  Oh, and it was 2% milk.  I am not into blue yecch-water.  I need quite a lot on my stomach with those morning meds or I return them in about 15 minutes.

It is supper time and I am going to have a controlled portion of Green Curry Chicken - 320 Calories, 11 g lipids including 5 g saturates.  Water on the side.

My Jack has diabetes.  We eat lots of fruits and veggies with chicken or fish or eggs now and again for protein.  It for sure is a balancing act and jack is having a bit of trouble of late with his sugars.  Will get it straightened out though.

How old is Jack?  Type I or Type II?  With insulin dependence (Type I) comes a lifetime of terrifying ups and downs.

I am Type II and almost entirely diet controlled with a couple of medications on the side that raise the dickens with my liver.  The trick is to eat small amounts regularly, and don't overdo anything.  The big bugaboo in this system is not sugar but fats.  I tend to avoid most meat proteins except chicken and fish (good oils).  Every once in a while I kick over the traces and have a pork chop or a small steak.  Mostly my diet is fruit, veggies and rice.  I love potatoes, but living alone makes them a bit of a nuisance.  Fortunately a couple of my portion packs include them, but both are beef stews, so only once a week at most.  Since I am no longer a growing boy, I don't kill myself with high amounts of veggies, but I get enough plus a vitamin supplement.  I try to keep my fibre levels up.

Breakfast, just now, was my 10 oz. (30 cl) glass of 2% milk, the diabetes meds plus an NSAID (I have RA).  I think I'll have a banana as a snack in about 20 minutes.

It seems my diabetes is genetic.  Both parents had late-in-life type II.

Jack is 59 and developed type 2 after a bad spell with his gallbladder in 2003 messed with his pancreas.  It seems this past year his whole body is being ornery.  First his blood pressure shot sky high even though he is on meds so now he is on 4 for that and then the sugars started creeping up.  Yep, we like our rice and eat more fruits than veggies, taters once in awhile, plenty of grains.  We try to watch fat.  My stomach issues make tolerating a lot of things tough and fat is a big one.  Oh the joys of juggling food with health issues when you have a multitude of them!  As a friend told me  "If it looks good, tastes good, is good, spit it out you can't have it!  LOL!

This has been my motto for over two years now. My diet has become VERY restricted for a couple of reasons and I lost from my high of 158 pounds to 125, my high school weight. I got pants out of the closet I thought I'd never wear again. Overall I feel pretty good for the condition I'm in. LOL

Morning meds and milk.  A sugarless mint (sweetened with Isomalt).  You have to be careful with isomalt, in doses over 30 gm it is a laxative.  System treats it like fibre.

Sounds like a little too much fat and sugar.  I have reverted to Diet Coke.  I'll take my chances with Aspartame.  Last week's experiment with regular Coca Cola put my blood sugar up a point.  I am nibbling on some Iranian pitted dates.

I sometimes eat dinner infront of my computer. The best I have done is a Chicken Cordon bleu while playing civ 4. I was really hungry and It was too into the game to stop so I had to take desperate measures! :P Right now I'm eating some chips and soy milk (lactose intolerant) :(
