Beaches that blend into the water?

Can anyone advise on how to get my beaches looking decent, in terms of the sand blending into the water. At the moment I've got a beach lot that stops with a straight line and then water, which looks awful!

Thanks folks!

1. Use a beach texture mod (Simply search for them around STEX, you will find a lot of them)

2a. Use some beach-themed MMP and eye-candies (Some palm trees, MMP peoples, and eye-candy buildings should be able to make the beach become more realistic)

2b. Skip step 1 and 2a, the only thing you need is PEG-OWW that can make beaches become much more realistic by plopping the puzzle pieces (You will also need the PEG CDK Leveler to make the ground's elevation same so the beach will not looks strange)

By doing step 1 and 2a or 2b, then a more realistic beach can be made.

It becomes troublesome when you have a custom terrain mod ALREADY installed, because water transparency mods are also terrain mods, and the problem becomes that you have one mod loading after the other, resulting in only one of the two in effect.

You'll need the Reader to modify your terrain mod; I don't know the properties to edit offhand, though. (Will need to find them,)

Yeah, that's an in-game oddity that has no workaround other than what's described above. (If we mean water transparency, then read the crossed-out stuff.)

A momentary fix can sometimes be gotten by switching to the zone display then switching back.

I have a simular problem with Fm_BeachesForIrregularCoasts v3.2 beaches and any water mod so far...including Costal Mod. They look great until I eather save the game, or go to city data view. This is what it looks like after.

I found this one and the "beach extend" mod to be really nice...

I would recommend looking into the by Pegasus as well. Unlike the Maxis beach, it does not have any textures to go into the water and in the end the results are much better.

There are many dependencies since the mod is designed to work with the Old Wooden Waterfront set but the entire collection is fantastic!

PEG's OWW Beach Development Kit was the way to go when I was looking for seamless beaches. Actually you can play with the basic beach lots without downloading all the dependencies, as sometimes the required props only appear in a lot you will not need. But, as usual, it's always recommendable to have all the dependencies.

As a downside, I removed the OWW BDK off my plugins for a reason. It was causing my game to fall in Prop Pox. If your game begins experiencing Prop Pox symptomes, it is quite possible that it is caused by the OWW BDK.

I have tried the Coastal Modd...but not the Beach Development kit.. I think it's the Coastal Modd that I was using when I took the pic. I am a bit of a noobie at "SC4"...and I just want a beach that will work with my Appalachian Terrain mod. I didn't like the beach color, so I tried keeping the original Maxis beach, and tried other beach color mods.
My goal....I'd like to keep the Appalachian beach and use plopable beaches to give them proper color. I can cover the edges that still appear with plopable sand and stone, but not when they do what they are doing. I want my first region to be like the US east coast....(New Jersey/Virgina beach)
I like realistic looking cities with functionality.
Thanks for the idea....I'll give the Beach Development kit a try and watch for "prop pox".

Update: I tried the Beach Development kit..and wile the boardwalk and invisable beaches are exactly what I'm looking for, they do not have the ability to transistion around corners. They have transitions, but they seem to be useless for turning beaches...unless I get the whole lot of Coastal Development Kit. I guess I could give it a try...
