The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. -- Winston Churchill

"We'll be in too close for nukes. Same thing goes for missiles. No, this is going to be strictly a gun battle. Like two old ships on the line, slugging it out at point-blank range. I want the gun captains to do their job and start firing immediately and to continue to fire until they run out of ammo. Then, I want them to start throwing rocks." -- William Adama, Battlestar Galactica

For the landmarks you need to grow your city and reach certain milestones before the landmarks become available. For example, the mayor's house becomes available at a population of 500 (I think), or the space port becomes available if you have 25,000 high tech jobs. You can unlock some rewards through the U-Drive it missions (only available in the Rush Hour Expansion/Deluxe edition.

If you want to learn all things SimCity 4, go to the Omnibus section of this web page. There is a vast amount of excellent articles to read through that will quickly make you an expert on SimCity. So dive in, read, enjoy and play!!

Have fun. :D

You need to differentiate between landmarks (can be vicariously added from the menu) and rewards which are earned (Mayor's house).

Some differences between landmarks and rewards :

Landmarks:

-They will always need money to be built

-There always a maintenance cost that will increase your city expenses.

-Their function is not more than eye-candy with landmark effect

-The only requirement is money, because all of them is expensive.

-They will not provide any job.

-You could plop 1 or 1,000, it's up to you !

Rewards:

-Sometimes, rewards is free and the maintenance cost is $0

- However, some of them will cost you some money as well and there will be maintenance cost, like the mayor house.

-Their function is not as eye-candy, but as a demand cap and some of them is civic buildings that could provide civic jobs and even buildings that could cause IQ and Health level boost

-The requirement is not always money, but usually other things like jobs, population, number of city connected, citywide pollution, etc.

- You only capable to plop one reward building.

-Business deals also included as reward, they could increase your income with negative impact toward your city.

Note: This differences will applies only to maxis default rewards and landmark, and not stuffs that available here or in any other SC4fansites because their effect might be different if compared with the maxis default.

Well, the landmarks that I want to put in my city are the landmarks that are in Simtropolis, as the World Trade Center, One Liberty Plaza, Woolworth Building, etc... How can I put their files in the game, to play with them?

if the mods come w/an installer it will put them there automatically. to put them in manually, simply extract the files and place them in your documents plugins folder

    C:\Users\your name\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins
