They could, but the question is will they? ... Probably not.

You never know. If the PC version is a hit, I can see them releasing a console version.

I played once SimCity on my good old SNES :) Was a great game. But nowadays i would prefer PC over console.

The only thing I'm worried about is Sim City becoming a PC game ported from a console game. It's no question that consoles have worse graphics and processing power. Despite not being a console gamer, it could open up the game to a new market, but it might also suggest to EA that they should remove some of the features compatible only with PC and instead make it primarily for console. This happened to Battlefield 3, and I don't want to see it again. If you don't know what I mean, look at PC alpha debris animations versus current ones.

the thing is, the xbox 360 has the best graphics of any console (ps3 might be better). The made simcity creator for wii... so why can't they make simcity 2013 for xbox. It has the similar capibility as a pc. I have a Limited Edition Kinect Star Wars 320GB bundle and it has the capability of stunning graphics. The control scheme can be revamped for xbox

With PS3 getting a mouse and keyboard for games such as CS:GO it wouldn't be out of the world of possibility. But I think it all depends on how it does on PC.

I mentioned earilier i played simcity on the snes in the early days. But i dont hope they make any console version of it now. It has similar capibility of a pc? The XBOX360 is from 2005.. 7 years old! The playstation3 and xbox360 are old machines that should already been replaced years ago. If you conbine the XBOX360 and Playstation3 it still doesnt beat my pc.

Ive owned both consoles and sold them already. The Xbox i used for GTA4 (early release date) but sold it right after i was done playing the game. The Playstions 3 i bought for GT5. It was a disapioting game. No much different than GT2 besides better graphics. And loading from that slow hdd was my reason the sell it again. Just give me my i7 pc with a GTX680 and my fast SSD :) When you put that in a console within a year give me a call.

Sim City 4 was never ported to a console, they won't port SC13 more than likely. Maxis, despite what some here insinuate, understand and like seeing the extra custom content, and custom content is harder to get on a console.

SimCity is still being developed, just because something isn't in the game right now, doesn't mean it won't be in the final game.

I doubt a console port will happen. SimCity is a very RAM and CPU heavy game, and the consoles dated hardware hardly provide any of these, esp. the RAM (both PS3 & 360 have 512 MB of RAM). The Wii U might have a slightly better chance with it's more recent but still dated hardware.

mmmm possibly... however i find that ALL Simcities (excluding the snes) that were ported to a system were all verry... unuser friendly... i know for a fact that the ps3 can support a keyboard/mouse... not sure bout xbox but i would think so...

then there is the hardware factor... nither ps3,wii,or xbox can fully support a full force simcity (such as sc4)

have any of you played sc creator for wii? terrible gfx, worst controls, verry limited region, and small maps, but overall decent gameplay, other than the fact with large cities it caused loading times to last hours.... course i hate to benchmark with a wii game...

I am not afraid to push that glowing red button

I survive April 2011 PlayStation Network downed services

I could tell you those nuclear codes, but i would have to kill ya as well

The Wii U could probably run 4. 3000 and earlier definetly. Don't know of anything else.

I would be surprised if there wasn't going to be a console version. I can't find it now, but weren't the developers even mentioning the possibility of a tablet version? The game controls remind me somewhat of the Sims 3 which has a console version. I believe the smaller cities and social system of SC 2013 would lend themselves well to a console port. Sure, consoles don't have the power of a high-end PC, but I doubt EA will create a game that will run solely on high end PC's. EA wants to reach the casual gamer and The Sims gamer, neither of whom may have a top notch system. I would imagine that's probably another reason why the maps are scaled down, why there is blank space around each city, and why things in the distance are blurred. I wouldn't be surprised if the game offered settings low enough to run even on notebooks with integrated graphics, i.e. machines with weaker graphics than current consoles.

Simcity could be fun on the WII U. The controller could make for an interesting experience.

Regarding Simcity Creator, you shouldn't compare that to anything. Simcity Creator is a terrible game.

I think that the next gen consoles could handle SC5. Based off the PC specs that most of us expect from the game. I'm expecting SC5 to require 4 gigs o' ram. Maybe 2 but I think that won't be enough. At the moment I'm writing this I don't know anything about the specs if Maxis revealed them!

The PS4 seems to have some pretty competent specs (like 8 GB of RAM), would this newfangled SimCity work on that?
