SimCity 4 Garbage problem

My city, ZImmer City (Pop: 182,000) is begining to have garbage problems, I built Garbage facailtes in outskirts of town, and Garbage Chutes, but the problem is still there and is increasing

Also: Sometimes when I try to build Roads, Streets, ETC, it just shows "Unsuitable grade for contruction Even tho its just pain flattion land I try to put it on

This has happened a lot to me. which is why I use Waste-to-Energy plants along wit ha regular power plant to power my city. mix it wit hthe recycling center and the garbage will be gone for a while. Eventually it will say theres no room for garbage so leave a space for a landfill (about a 9x9 square) and the garbage should build up there than leave. Unzone the land after the garbage is gone and you shoould be able to put street through it.

Or you could just use something like the (my favorite) and just dump all your garbage down into the black hole and be done with it.

A few city ordinances also help reduce the amount of garbage your city needs to dispose of. Consider using paperwork reduction, tire recycling, and trash presort to increase the effectiveness of your recycling centers. If that's not enough, you can always ship your garbage to neighbor cities,.

Do a search under "waste" and you should find a lot of plants to deal with trash. I use a couple that not only get rid of the trash but make electricity in varying amounts. I have two that are my favorites. One for medium towns and one for larger.

my city says garbage is piling up and whatnot but I have a deal with neighboring city to take my garbage, im paying them to take it yet its still piling up , this has happened at another one of my cities too, is this a glitch or something?? should I just cancel deal and get waste to energy plant?

They're probably filled up too. Try this:

I use it all the time. Takes up one tile, so you can tuck it away anywhere.

how do you know if they are filled up tho? cuz that city is new plus I have 2 waste to energy plants there so theres no way they filled up, what about that garbage chute mod ? super recycle can got only 3/5 stars

It probably has a lower rating because it's nothing to look at, just a simple trash can on a plaza tile. I've used the w2e plants before and had problems with them. Black Hole WM works too, it just uses up more precious space.

gotcha, so how do I download just open or save and put in plugings? also how much trash does it hold and for how big of a city? or do I need multiple ones? yea I saw the Blackhole one , same questions for that too.

How much garbage is your deal for? How much garbage does your city gain each month with no deal? I betcha your deal isn't big enough.

Hi LightSkinnedPisce, I just happened to see your topic, Acturally I usually download a personal satifised Waste-to-Energy factory(Like Simmer2's), Then I use reader or other tools to modified it depend on reality.

My City's population is 1,800,000 and nearly 40,000 ton trash/month, So I tweaked the Waste to Energy monthly capacity to 80,000. If you use Reader 0.93, You have to pay attention to the value, You need to tranform it from HEX to DEC. Hope It help.

From time to time, you may need to renegotiate your Neighbor Deals, as you need to buy more capacity than you originally agreed to as your city grows. You'll also need to revisit the other city from time to time to update the deal on that end and to make sure that it can handle the increased capacities.
