GreekMan: Thanks!  I'm glad my city has a good urban vibe...it takes a long time to get it to look how I want to, and so its good to hear that the effort is not done in vain.

Aaron Graham: Thanks a bunch.  And thanks again for all your wonderful buildings, my next update will feature quite a bit of them...

This update will be a bit shorter, I am currently reworking my downtown, trying to make it more realistic and fun.  But, I had a few more images of Williams that I wanted to share before I started showing images of downtown Ventura City.  So as always, here is a region view of the focus area:

GreekMan: Your wish is my command...here is downtown.

ThirtyThree: Thanks a lot, that's great to hear!

So, as I said in my last update, this update...and probably at least  the next few ones will feature downtown Ventura City.  This one in particular focuses on Lower Downtown, around Morrison Park.  I am in a major NY kick right now, so it is very much inspired by the city.

That's a very nice update! Well done!

I like to see those 30's buildings mixed with buildings from the 80's and 0's!

Moving East for this update, I am going to show Monterrey Hills, which is on the eastern edge of downtown Ventura City.  The neighborhood is right up against the Brentwood Mountains and Monterrey Hills Country Club.  First, for a region shot:

    gu7t.jpg

Here is an overview of the neighborhood.  It leads right up into the country club and the forest surrounding Brentwood Mountains.  This neighborhood is prime real estate, home to some of the most expensive apartments in the city.

    pf5i.jpg

Speaking of Expensive homes, here are some of the most sought after apartments in the neighborhood:

    ziiu.jpg

    1klh.jpg

There are also plenty of parks in the area, here is one of them, on the northern edge of the neighborhood:

    p8fa.jpg

The Brentwood Line of the Elevated Rail System of Ventura City runs through the neighborhood, here are a few shots:

First, it runs by the Monterrey Country Club

    11x6.jpg

    z8q8.jpg

Then you reach the Swallow Street Station

    wniw.jpg

Continuing on after the Swallow St. Station:

    ftxv.jpg

And here it runs across Striker Street, to continue on into downtown:

    f0kq.jpg

Perhaps the only bad thing about Monterrey is the traffic.  Here is rush hour in the morning as workers pour in from the surrounding suburbs to start work in their downtown offices:

    2caw.jpg

And to leave you with a final image:

    5ska.jpg

Thank you for visiting Ventura City, please leave a comment and come back again next time!

About the traffic: WOW! Even the traffic in my biggest cities is better than that, but my apartments will be abandoned either. :(

Wow.... such an amazing CJ. Can't believe I hadn't discovered this before. The regional view is incredibly realist, so as the cities. And they are so beautiful! The attention to details is also amazing: I loved the plaza beetwen the buildings.

Benedict: Thank you, and thanks for the #1 spot on BTT, I can't believe it!  I hope I can hold onto the spot a little longer!

TekindusT: Thanks! and Mmmm...NY Cheesecake, now I have a major craving for them!

Snugies: Thanks!  Even though it is kind of boring with less detail, the warehouse district is one of the things I am most proud of in Ventura City.  It took a lot of Google Maps research and work to get it to how I wanted it.  Maybe I will show some images from there sometime soon.

Ultimate727: Thank you so much!  It really feels good to hear that you really like Ventura City, it makes it feel worthwhile to update!  And about the traffic...I have no idea how it got that bad, but I haven't really been able to fix it.

Sylvio Jorge: I'm glad to hear that I have a new fan, I'm happy you like Ventura City!

    GreekMan: Thanks!

Thank you everyone for supporting Ventura City to get it to the BTT #1 spot this week!  I really appreciate all of the comments and views, it really inspires me to continue!  To celebrate, here is a short update, just a mosaic of Monterrey Hills and the Monterrey Hills Country Club.  In the next couple of days I will be back with another update of North Monterrey Hills (which is actually the bottom of the Mosaic)

    Thanks GreekMan!

So as promised last time, here is North Monterrey Hills.

    pf9a.jpg

Whitman Avenue runs through the Helmsley Building, ending at Woodside Road.  The Helmsley Building is an iconic building of the neighborhood, well known, and well loved by most everybody in Monterrey Hills.

    nsa6.jpg

Here are some of the sights around the Helmsley Building:

    ff7z.jpg

The East Plaza of United Central Bank on the scenic Woodside Road

    8fwq.jpg

And flipping to the other side of Woodside Road are the Charles Villiage Rowhomes.

    r092.jpg

Nestled up against the Brentwood Mountains and bordering Silverman's Nature Path, Islington Row is a very sought after street!

    b4sz.jpg

To the south is Quincy Avenue.  You might remember Quincy Freeway from an earlier update on Oceanside, and Quincy Avenue is just an extension of the Freeway, transitioning to an avenue once it hits downtown Ventura City and finally ending up at Woodside Road.

    k9e0.jpg

Here is another image of Quincy Avenue with the Tower Life Building lighting up the night sky in the Foreground.

    q2oi.jpg

And finally to leave you with some random sights around North Monterrey Hills:

    0p3v.jpg

Folsom Plaza towards the top of the image

    uitg.jpg

And again Folsom Plaza, this time from the south

    25gk.jpg

And no city would be complete without a McDonalds

    vwaz.jpg

    Thanks Again!

My next update will be a little different than usual, so keep a lookout for that!

Sorry for the long delay.  I went on vacation and came home to massive flooding in my town.  Thankfully I'm not on the first floor in my building, otherwise Ventura City would have been gone forever (along with a whole slew of other problems).

But finally I'm back, and as I said last time this update will be different...in that I am following the walking path from where it starts near the Brentwood Mts. in East Brentwood, all the way through Ventura City.

This update follows the first section, just through Brentwood:

wwetom1: Thanks!  One of my favorite sections of Ventura City is Brentwood because the two mountain ranges make the area so hilly and it really creates a fun challenge to work with, and allows me to break from the grid.

Continuing West on the path, we will see more of Brentwood, and end just before it reaches into downtown:
