SC4 Crashes Due to City Size

Upon entering my favorite and biggest city with over 100,000 Sims, I try to scroll around, zoom in or out, or otherwise move only to have the game crash to desktop with no error messages. The game has no problem changing from Sim to Mayor to God menus, though, and has no problems at all in the smaller cities nearby. I have not made any kind of modifications for at least a good month now in terms of plugins. After checking other threads, it seems that my problem has to do with the city being too big, and the computer not being able to handle it all. Is there any way to solve this problem? Maybe modify some settings to make it run more efficiently perhaps?

This has happened to me too. I just recently started building a 'really big' city (to see what I can get the population to). It's sitting about 100k and frequently just crashes out of nowhere :( So frustrating!

Both of you should review the threads on CTDs in Bugs and Technical Issues.

If you are going to talk about crashes, that's where to do it, and don't forget the technical details of your machine and the first 20 lines of your latest crash report.

Where can I get a crash report? I don't get error messages when it CTDs.

In your user area of the game there is a folder called exception reports. The dumps are there. Remember we only need the first 20 lines of your most recent one, and a description of your machine.
