  1. SC4 Crashes Due to City Size

This has happened to me too. I just recently started building a 'really big' city (to see what I can get the population to). It's sitting about 100k and frequently just crashes out of nowhere So frustrating!
  2. A SimCity that existed before the PC

How adorable! I love Model Villages! I wonder if I can convince my husband to take us on a road trip up to PA any time soon
  3. What is your favouite airport?

St. Louis Lambert International It's just so 'Mid Century Mod' from a design point of view. From a passengers point of view it's "just right" too- it's big enough to have flights to most of the major U.S. cities, and small enough / quiet enough that it's not a nightmare getting to your gates, or waiting in line at the security checkpoint for hours. Love it! P.S. Minoru Yamasaki (most famous for designing the World Trade Center Twin Towers in NYC) designed the Airport's main terminal, which was completed in 1956. Quantam Eagle: The Old Kai Tak airport was pretty unique! Especially the flight path! I LOVED flying into Kai Tak on vacations (I used to have cousins living in Kowloon). When I was in my early teens, I remember thinking that the view was very 'Sim City Esque' (I was obsessed with Sim City 2000 in those days). Totally neat!
  4. Mount Sterling, Missouri

I'm a St. Louisan as well (technically a transplant). I agree, it's the greatest city in the world, and I've lived in a few
  5. Mount Sterling, Missouri

Welcome to Mt. Sterling, Missouri! I will be adding photos of the 'Sim' City in the near future... but in the meantime, here are some teasers I created for this magical forgotten town of yesteryear. Please note: My FICTIONAL Mt. Sterling is not in any way affiliated to the real Mt. Sterling in Missouri in geography or scope. No actual representation beyond the name is intentional. Enjoy!
  6. A Drive Through the Countryside

    Gorgeous! Fantastic job!
  7. Parks not displaying properly?

AMAZING! Gosh, it looks like a totally different game now! That's much better! Thanks everyone
  8. Parks not displaying properly?

Ooohkay I see it. Great. Thank you so much I'll restart it and see if that works!
  9. Parks not displaying properly?

Hi Cobhris- thanks for your quick reply! Are you referring to graphics settings within the game itself (which I don't yet know how to change! Oops!) or graphics/resolution settings on my computer? Sorry for being so dingy Thanks for your help!
  10. Hi Folks! Well, as a child Sim City 2000 was my favorite game. For a bit of nostalgia / boredom relief I recently purchased & downloaded Sim City 4. I've so far been having fun making cities (although they're mediocre compared to some of the ones I've seen on this site- WOW!). Anyway, I'm not sure my Parks are displaying correctly. The stock Maxis parks, playground, gazebo, etc all just end up looking like a grassy area (without the 3d objects). Additionally, the flower parks look just like flattened color. Is this the way it was designed, or do I have a bug or am I missing something? If you can help, I'd appreciate it Thanks Much!
