I was playing around with some mods and completely crippled my RCI. Only fix I could find was to delete the region. SO I did that in-game. Now all the New York region files are gone from both "Regions" folders. I have all the others, just no New York.

Does anyone know where I can get a hold of these files?

I've done some searching online and have come up empty handed. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

do you mean the maxis NYC map? if so its founded as a baackup in (by default) C:\Program files\Maxis\Simcity 4 Deluxe\Regions all of the maxis maps backups ar located there just copy and paste to the regions folder in the documents. it can also be founded on the original disk

if your not talking about maxis but more like a user created map of NYC well then have fun searching i guess :P

I also use steam and if this would  occur to me, I would make a backup of my regions and plugins ( waste of work otherwise, so I always make a backup)) and just install the game again. So go to steam, --> library, right click on the game and delete. after that, install again. But maybe there is an easier way.

Indeed, just use in the in-game option "Options" (three dots in top right) / "Play Options" / "Reset Tutorials" from the region view screen. This will restore all the original regions that came with the game. But as stated, make sure you backup any of these regions you've been playing with first, or you may loose all your saves.

Having the Steam version doesn't change anything, only the location of the install of SC4. The manual way is to look in the INSTALLDIR/Regions folder, here are the original untouched regions. You can simply copy a Region (folder) from there into the User Regions folder under DOCUMENTS/SimCity 4.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.
