Congratulations on winning an Trixie. You are very deserving for that one also.3.gif
I guess that I have not commented on your last update... and it has been an while. One thing that I can advise is: more roadsigns17.gif
I am looking forward to an update for Norwich, to see what you pull off next, as all inside of the inner-ring road is developped...
By the way; welcome back to ST after your

I know I figured it out. There were too many pictures in the e-mail and I haven't gotten around to re-sending it in smaller amounts. I'll get to it soon though. -uncrayzcooper

Thanks kbooms1w. Hmmmm, which is better? I'd say a Trixie is much better - that only comes round once a year for sure, a Premiership win may only come round once a year - here's hoping not!!!!!

    Very good journal

One thing about the signs though - I'd hate to have to read them at speed!
Why not try and put a minimal amount of information on them - for example, in the last sign for junction 1 on the A3(M), there are directions on the sign for places you've already passed! You could make that sign much simpler - see the attachment for an example

Norwich Expands Northward With Fresh Sporting Ambitions

Hello everyone and may I wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year!!!! Well, it's been a while hasn't it? But what more suitable day to update Norwich than today, a new start and the first anniversary of my ST membership!

Norwich has moved further north of Clarendon, into a new borough, called Kingsbury. CONRIP (City Of Norwich Redevelopment Investment Plan) has earmarked a large area of Kingsbury for the first of a number of projects to enhance Norwich as the world's sporting capital. As well as having a number of world-class sporting venues in the city, such as Olympic Stadium and the indoor and outdoor training facilities and youth academy belonging to Norwich City FC, the National Baseball Stadium, the National Football Museum, the Casswell Indoor Stadium, the Norwich Tennis Stadium, as well as having it's very own College of Sports Sciences, together with the many soccer stadia and convention centres, the city plans to introduce at least three more world-class venues.

    1) International Athletics Arena - a new arena and sports park facility designed more specifically towards athletics (although it will be usable for a wide variety of sports) is in it's planning phase. It is to be built on a hitherto undeveloped area of land to the city's north-west, and will be accessible via the M1 motorway.

    2) Stokyngton Raceway - A new Formula One and Superbikes-class racing circuit is set to be built in the M4 corridor as it extents westwards from Thistlehurst. The new borough is set to be named...... Stokyngton!

    3) Kingsbury Manor Hotel Championship Golf Course - a 70-par golf course designed with the help of one of the UK's most successful golfers ever, Nick Faldo, has been touted as the next of the world's great golf courses, and the city hopes that it will entice the world's best golfers to compete in a top championship exclusive to the venue.

Kingsbury Manor Hotel is actually two hotel buildings, 220 rooms ranging from

lad, this is an excellent CJ! Well done! However ive just been perusing your
cenus data and noticed central Norwich has a pop of 800,000+!

Anyways, just wandering what specs your computer is?, i think my computer would melt if it ran a game with 800,000+ pop

    Again, excellent city! 1.gif

Glad to see you continuing with Norwich after your prestigous award. Delia Smith would be proud 2.gif

As you probably know, 'Vicky Pollard' from Little Britain was based on a real life character from the real Norwich. Consequently, I was wondering if you're gonna build some cool R$ sink-estates to complement the more glamourous side of Norwich you have shown us so far?

hudders - thank you very much! My PC has 512Mb DDR RAM, 1100Mhz Duron processor (I think it's Duron, could be Athlon) the rest escapes me.

gascooker - Little Britain, I'm afraid, does not interest me at all, just not my sort of thing. So I had no idea about the woman from Norwich - I suppose she's portrayed in the same way as Norwich/Norfolk folk usually are - a bit backward or slow? Very misguided, although I would say that wouldn't I?!!! Every large city has it's rough areas, I'm sure I will be able to introduce some somewhere..... watch this space!

uncrazycooper - hello again matey glad to be back thanks for the welcome.

Great to see Norwich spring back into life. The hotel complex and golf course looks great. I'll look forward to seeing the athletics arena and raceway.

It's also very nice to see my BATs (made in my rp2004 incarnation) popping up in Norwich's suburbs

    Andrew George is back! 39.gif

Your update seems very nice, and creative thinking trying to 'fill-the-gap' in the North of Norwich. I have only one small tip: maybe you should try to fill in any region where you want farms to be placed, even when you are still working on development on the Central Norwich (In its direction) of the map, as you will quickly loose farming demand as you develop, and it will make some of your region somewhat weired-looking - like my spelling of that (:P). The reson I give this suggestion is in reason that some parts of Norwich, as seen in satelite pictures, can almost be prepared for the forthcoming of farms, any time...

    Keep up the good work!

Yes! Finally there's an update. I've been waiting a long time for you to it andrew! Anyways, the latest update was fantastic. Kingsbury Golf Course looks great and the surburbia look so nice and orderly. I must say, the way you build the roads, highways and  interchanges is really interesting and realistic. The typical complicated interchange. I like it. Keep up the good job.44.gif

I could almost say: welcome back!  Great Golf course and interesting to see the park lots you're using in it. Also, I'm astonished your overall budget is just over 7 m, and your still growing such a huge city with many parks and landmarks!  (my largest city has 55 m, don't even know how to spend it all, even though I admit some energy/garbage lots can be considered cheat lots.). I guess it's because your an accountant, innit!

    keep on loke that!!!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone!

Dannato - budgeting: spending as closely to your budget limit is a failsafe way of ensuring you get at least the same budget given to you next year. It happens in UK local councils all the time - ever wonder why you go through a whole year with no roadworks then, suddenly they crop up all over your town/city? Well, it's not because the roads actually need repairing, it's their way of spending surplus money at the end of the financial year so they get a nice big fat budget in the new financial year!!!!!

    TommyC352 - a Peterborough-based Simtropolite? There's a few on here now...... welcome!

GingerBlokey - thanks buddy, On The Ball, City!!

Nardo69 - thanks for the compliment and I'm sure mattc005 will say the same....

    Many thanks again.

    Andrew
