The Hampton Wildberries, that's an interesting name :P

Regarding the grid, I often forget to turn it off too so don't worry about it

wow! I've missed a lot of your updates in the last couple days! :O

Cape Barren sure has grown A LOT since i've last seen it, and i've liked every single update so far! :D

I thought this was an entirely different city journal it's changed so much! So much developments! :O

Can't wait to see more and more of Cape Barren!

edit - Are you take development proposals? Maaaay have gotten the idea from Sim link, :uhm:

Because i've heard this developer from China and also India wants to set up over sea branches in your city to have a closer base to deal with all the iron exports from Cape Barren. A report was given and said that it would greatly increase the cites' wealth and also the city skyline.

Hotel, Commercial and Retail. To house both Indian and the Chinese branches.

Commercial, no hotel or retail, and only the Chinese Branch.

Residential, by the Indian developer, has a keen eye on a beachfront area.

Just loving Cape Barren!!

simLink engineering services has finally decided on a building it would like to see constructed in Hampton for its HQ. We have selected It appears it would be one of the taller buildings in the downtown area, however we feel it is justified as Hampton is growing, and this may spur growth. Only a portion of the building is to be iccupied by our company, the rest being open to other companies looking to locate to Hampton.

Should council choose not to accept our proposal, we propose be constructed. This would solely be our HQ with only a small portion being occupied by other companies. Our preference is the first option, however.

We would also like to note that we are interested in possibly developing more commercial buildings in the future as part of a new division to be formed, simLink Real Estate Holdings. We would love to rule the Hampton skyline help develop Hampton's future. :D

---

Anyway... looks great! The opera house and area around it is awesome, it looks very realistic. :)

jack_sunny: Hehe I had to come up with something funny and not so common! Yes it's easy to forget that damn grid. :P

City_master: Sure I take development proposals! And I have placed your #1 proposal in a really nice location which you will see in the next update!

SIMplemente: Thanks! Yes I think thoose maxis buildings most of the time looks really good so I always use them in my cities! :)

-JD-: Thanks! Glad you enjoy it! :)

sim_link: I'm afraid I could find one of the dependencys for the your first proposal so I had to go with the second one! Sorry about that, hope you will like where I placed your building! :)

vivapanda: Thanks! I really like to make low density residential areas they always turn out so good. :)

shanemelbourne: Thanks! Very glad to hear that you like it!

Aaron Graham: Thanks mate! You will see more of thoose neighbourhoods in the future I can promise! :)

    Update 13 - More development!

Since I got some development proposals after the last update the city has been building thoose like crazy to get them finished until this update! In the picture below you see the buildings which belongs to City_masters Indian and China branch (to the left) and Sim_link Engineering HQ (to the right). These two offices have made it possible for many more sims to get a place to work in the commercial world. It's fun to build development which has been proposed by users here on ST. So you any of you have more proposals just comment and say where you want them built. Or maybe you would even like to build a whole residential/commercial/industrial area just tell me! :)

    Hampton72.jpg

The cultural elite in Hampton just had woken up from the big party when the citys Opera House was opened. When they where told that the city council had started a quick development of a new gigantic cultural and arts museum. They all got really excited and headed downtown to watch the construction progress, and a few months later it was opened with a gigantic exhibition of the most famous artists. Like Simccasso, Leonardo Sim Vinci, Claude Sim and many others!

    Hampton73.jpg

The city council also made an important reconstruction of the new highway. They moved it a bit to the right and moved it's starting point a few hundred meters to the north. This made it possible to build an entire new small residential and commercial area.

    Hampton71.jpg

And now since the Hampton population has exploded (Reached 102 231 residents in the last year!) in the last couple of years the traffic situation has just become worse for every day that has passed. The situation is really bad around the central station and the closest streets. If you have any suggestions how to solve this just comment about it!

    trafficsituation.jpg

The railway through has two avenue underpasses and a groundlevel crossing of a narrow avenue. The left underpass and the central road is where the situation is really bad. Even if several thousand sims are traveling by bus that doesn't help much. Also a few thousand cars and buses from St. Martin arrives from the south and just adds up to the problem. This situation really needs to be solved and this is right now the highest priority for the city council.

Any comments and suggestions is welcome! If you have any development proposals you want to build in Hampton or any of the other cities just post them below! If you have a suggestion how to solve the traffic problems please post them below!

^^ Little can solve the traffic in the city district around the station except for maybe the first metro line?

Great progress! At first I wasn't really sure about the layout of your city but I can see now that it's coming along just fin :)

The building looks great. our new office is developing several proposals which we will present at a later date.

    Great work!

EDIT: simLink engineering services is is proposing construction of anywhere council sees fit. Should it not be built in the downtown core, we ask for a large parking lot to surround the building. We also propose the construction of following the same guidelines as above. We appreciate council evaluating these proposals, and look forward to the results of council's vote.

Great update! :) Have you thought of a subway network leading from the station and going under the roads that are being used the most? From the station to the stadium, and another line in direction to downtown. Can't wait for the next update!

The Indian and Chinese develpers are very happy with the location of their building, and there is talks of a residential or a hotel being proposed along the coast sometime soon, they are keen to reveal it and are happy with the design.

    Proposal: :read:

I can't wait to visit the ARTS AND CULTURAL Museum in Cape Barrem!

I've always loved Simcasso and Leornado Sim Vinci. Now that I heard that the museum also houses Claude Sim artwork, I want to buy a flight ticket to get into a plane as soon as possible towards the Nation of Cape Barren!

    Hmm, wait a minute!

There isn't any airport there! Oh My God? What to do? How do I get there? With my own car?

    Nah!

Too many traffic jams (even worse than my own city) and so little wide and long avenues and freeways...

By train? Not a good idea... It seems that the rail network in the Nation of Cape Barren is overused and they need a some new lines...

    Light metro? Subway? Buses?...

HAMPI: your possiblities to solve the traffic problems are simply endless! :read:

    I like how fast your city is growing and developing! :}

YUUU: Thanks for the tips the city council has considered to invest in a subway in the near future!

Vivapanda: Yes and it has grown even more in the coming update!

Sim_Link: Looking forward to new proposals from your office! :)

City_master: Yes the city council is considering a new subway system that will begin construction really soon! Great look forward to more proposals from the Indian and Chinese!

samima: Thanks! The city council is considering your proposal and if it has been approved it will show up in the next update!

SimCoug: Thanks! I like to try and involve my readers the city journal gets a lot more dynamic then!

SIMplemente: The city council has done quite a few improvements to traffic that will be show in the next update, even an airport has been added but for now it's just one of the default one hasn't had time to get an airport pack yet. :)

    =============================================================================================================================================================================================

This will just be a short teaser update since I have been very busy at school so I haven't had time to finish the next update completly!

One of the "We love the mayor" groups in Hampton has raised quite a large sum of money to build a memorial park in the honour of the mayor (me! :D) it has gotten a lot of attention when it was opened up to the public and is now a very popular place for the sims to spend their free time. Sit around one of the tables by the café and take a espresso or feed the pigeons is some of the more popular activites.

What a great park! I would love to sit down and admire the surroundings :D

The proposal has gotten the final design and has been agreed on. They hope that it is not too late to be accepted.

They think it will create an icon for the city, as it will be one of the tallest.

Vivapanda: Thanks! I really like the default mayor statues, they always look good and it's easy to build parks around them. :)

Samima: I don't think you will be disappointed with its placement! :) I can go back to the starting area in the next update, don't have any new picture of it in this area. :)

City_Master: Glad you like the park! :D No it's not to late your proposal just made it trough to this coming update!

    ==============================================================================================================================================================================

Update 14 - Airport finally! And proposals from users on Simtropolis!

As promised the city council have decided to build an airport. This will furture boost the economy in Cape Barren which has already been booming for the last decades. (I don't have any airport pack yet so the largest default air port will have to be enough at the moment). This airport can manage over 287 000 passangers and will hopefully be enough for the comming decades.

    Hampton-16Sep921334597051.png

Back in Hampton just north of the central station a brand new stone church was built by the Hampton Church. This is their most expensive investment ever and this church will hopefully be there for a long long time.

    Hampton66-1.jpg

The Hampton Education Department has grown so large that they had to move out of the city hall and build their own office building in downtown Hampton. These new offices will be great addition to the already overcrowded Town Hall.

    Hampton-22Jul1001334687797.png

Down by the coast the Ocean Drive had to be rebuilt a slight bit to accommodate the brand new hotell from our Chinese and Indian investors. It's a five star hotel with just a few feets out to the beautiful Hampton beach.

    Hampton-3Apr1051334744195.png

The new airport in Hampton boosted the commercial sector and many business men arrived here every week. Because of this the city council decided to build the Hampton Exhibition hall which will host the annualy Hampton World Fair in July each year. Already in the first year the Exhibition was visited by over 300 000 people. Both residents of Cape Barren and people from other parts of the world. And as you can see the biggest event in this years Hampton World Fair was the uncovering of Sim City 5 by Maxis and EA Games. ;)

    Hampton-6Nov941334686032.png

Close to the exhibition hall two large hotels was built to accommodate all visitors.

    Hampton-17Mar1001334687547.png

Around the exhibition hall a new dense residential and commercial area was built the property value in this area just exploded after the first Hampton World Fair. Many highrises both residential and commercial was built. This area is now home to over 20 000 Sims and they are the most frequent users of the new subway that has opened in Hampton! (A subway map will come later).

    Hampton-6Nov941334686010.png

Right beside the new highrise area a medium residential area with a rather different design was built. The buildings didn't lay close to each other but spaced apart to allow for more natures and parks closer to the residents. This area is also very popular for picknicks especially by the people who live in the highrises.

    Hampton-16Mar1001334687489.png

And in downtown Hampton a new epic building was built. It took three years but then the Samima Corporation could open the doors to it's brand new highrise office building. It's the highest building in Hampton with its 156 meters. This has also brought alot of jobs to the area. Over 3000 sims work in the Samima Corporation building and in the other highrise in the bottom right corner it works over 4500 sims. So these two buildings host most of the commercial workforce in Hampton.

Beautiful church, I like how you nestled it in with the houses surrounding it. And that is a great Dept. of Education building - can you share where you found it? It looks like you have quite a building boom in progress.

I love how your city feels so alive, all the construction going on is great to see!

The Chinese and Indian are still very keen in Cape Barren, and are back to the drawing boards! It was very quick before they decided on this new high rise! Here is the proposal, a residential building that would be best right next to the coast,

And on an entirely different proposal, a ferris wheel along the coast too, Which will bring joy to the citizens of Cape Barren as they get to observe a different perspective of the city.

But they will now be known as Platinum Corp. It was confused with lots of other businesses from the same area.

Wow! I like where you placed the building. It looks kind of like the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Also can you rename the company to Samim Architecture Corporation. Change the tower name from Samima Tower to Samim Tower. I think it is 30,000 people working in Samim Tower.

It's good to see how your city is alive, as it is being developed: the victorian style church looks good in Cape Barren. Hotel in Hampton Beach and the new Samima Tower are good improvements in your city. Thanks for sharing!

Looks great, I like how the city is developing. Great work! :) That one building looks a bit out of place, so simLink Realt Estate Division, Inc. would like to resubmit an earlier proposal to council. Thanks for taking a look!

The interaction is a pretty good idea, I must say. Kinda fun.

    The proposal:

simLink engineering services is is proposing construction of anywhere council sees fit. Should it not be built in the downtown core, we ask for a large parking lot to surround the building. You need to use RMIP-2 Vol 01-04 + ACE-VLT Terminals + full SCAG set to make a realistic airport. You might replace with older ACE terminals and SWAP if you like to.

    Also;

ZH Real Estate would like to submit , as it is a product of our own design. It should ideally be located in one of the suburbs, the closer to a highway interchange the better it is. We employ 74 people and we want to expand to Cape Barren.
